How great will it be when they are Catholic again (soon)!!!! But right now — those words — “thither” and “fain” are so beautiful they should be brought back into general use. I will try to find ways to use them in 2023.
And yeah, the Anglicans… They are a confusing bunch. One group of them can be “ordaining” “married” lesbians as “bishops” who will commemorate St. Thomas More and St John Fisher, and another will be worshipping ad orientem with altar girls, another will tell you to your face that they are still in communion with Rome (not the Ordinariate), and will tell you with pride that when the Novus Ordo came out the adopted it before their Roman Catholic neighbors because that’s what Rome said to do, and yet another will tell you that they’ve always been independent of Rome, and mistakenly tell you that they are no different than another other autocephelous Church in the East, and yet another will tell you how they’re still Protestant, and were once in Communion with Rome, but are glad to be rid of all that Papist-nonsense, it goes on and on…
I’ll just say that if the Anglican Ordinariate Mass in the Catholic Church were the Mass that came out of V2, things would be A LOT different today. I think there’s a little “tug-of-war” just beginning in the Ordinariate right now. It could be summed-up as: “We’re here to bring Anglicans into the wider Catholic Church, not here to give tradition-minded Catholics who can’t get to a TLM a way to worship.”
Merry Christmas, Mark! Thank you for all you do.

Merry Christmas, Mr. Dougherty.
Ditto on Mary D’s expression of thanks.
Merry Christmas.

So let’s ask Our Lady of Walsingham to help us all get it right!
Make England Roman Catholic again.
Can you even imagine?
