You may have heard this phrase, “the return of the strong gods” in reference to this thing that we know as “the culture war.” What does that mean? Why is it important? We often think that the culture war is about who controls the news or who is in control of the nation’s institutions. Alternatively, we think that the culture war is about who is in charge of the major mechanisms of cultural production. Maybe it is about our elite class using these cultural mechanisms to push an agenda which breaks down all traditional moral categories and standards of behavior. It is all of this, in part. But these are merely the surface epiphenomena. At its heart, the culture war is about something deeper and more fundamental. It is about the rules for everything.

People prefer to say that the papacy is a lie rather than admitting that the man contradicting Jesus and what the Church always taught left and right might be an antipope. And I just don’t get it. If the papacy is a lie why wouldn’t that make Catholicism a false religion? It’s the distinguishing feature, not a bug, of Catholicism.
I’m getting irritated at the people who want to correct the papacy since Vatican I. Newsflash: if the Church taught falsely about the papacy then it is not the pillar of truth.
It’s easy to get. One road, the Truthful one, is harder to thread than the other. Moreso because there are no easy answers or solutions for fixing it that don’t involve turmoil, hardship, and abandonment to the Providence of God in such a way that we won’t ever see how it’s possible until it’s done and accomplished as He wills.
We always seek the “easier” path that involves less work. We’re all guilty of this in little and big ways.
Yeah, I realize what you are saying. I hope they’ll eventually awake. Maybe after the sinod? I just hope they don’t leave the Church because they think he’s the rock with neverfailing faith.
T right and honestly I see people who want to “dismantle the papacy” as wanting to give themselves up to degenerate desires, like Luther. Let’s be real. That wife who’s been nagging you for years and has become unattractive? No papacy means you have no obligation to be with her any longer and can get with that cute little thing that actually makes your heart flutter. No papacy? I can make shady business deals with impunity because who’s going to stop me? My conscience? Those weird nasty polyamorous relationships the left keeps spewing about? Maybe I can try it now. Hate having to be “forced” to go to Church on Sunday and want o sleep in? Hey no papacy means I don’t have to go! If you’re one of the “good” Catholics who doesn’t contracept but secretly wants to, “Whew,” now you can wipe your brow and say that since there’s no papacy, that’s over and now I don’t have to keep having all these kids!! And on and on and on. These degenerates aren’t fooling anyone, at-least not me.

Johnno the answer to that is yes. But also living in mortal sin e.i. Pre-material sex with your long term “partner” that never results in marriage, contraception, pr0n, not going to Church every Sunday if baptized Catholic, are not flying anymore in this day and age and Millennials are getting demonically attacked for it. I say rightfully so actually. I’d hate to be these poor bastards and not know which way is up on how to “cure” it because I’ve been told straight up lies and misconceptions about religion all my life and believed it.
