Whenever you stroll through a cemetery like that, you won’t be able to discern rich from poor or any other distinctions. Sure, for a military spot, it’ll show there name and rank, but beyond that, everyone leaves this world in the same condition; king and pauper alike. It was enough to convert many like St. Francis Borgia.
Other than that, we should honor (and pray for) the dead, especially the ones who left a legacy of sacrifice (hence, today’s memorial).
