Blessed Feast of Saint Anne, mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patroness of all mothers

(Originally posted July 26, 2022)

Anne and Joachim, her husband, were both of the royal house of David. They served God continually in prayer and good works, but were looked down upon by the Jews because they were childless. At length God gave them a daughter, who was to become the mother of His own divine son. Because St. Anne devoted herself ceaselessly to educating her child in innocence and sanctity, she is patron of all Christian mothers. St. Paul says that it is by a holy exercise of their parenthood that parents are to be saved (Col. 3:18-21).

The Lesson for today is from the Mass of a Holy Woman Not a Martyr, and we hear it only a few times per year. It is the Valiant Woman passage at the conclusion of the Book of Proverbs. You won’t find that phrase in any prot bibles of course, and most Catholic bibles are even worse: The NRSVCE has it as “Capable Wife.” Good grief.

Anyway, it is an absolutely beautiful passage. The man and woman described here are models for us, for our spouse, or future spouse. Happy Feast! Could you please offer an Ave for my mother, Anne Docherty?

LESSON Prov. 31:10-31
Who shall find a valiant woman? far, and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her. The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of spoils. She will render him good, and not evil all the days of her life. She hath sought wool and flax, and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands. She is like the merchant’s ship, she bringeth her bread from afar. And she hath risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and victuals to her maidens. She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard. She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm. She hath tasted, and seen that her traffic is good: her lamp shall not be put out in the night. She hath put out her hand to strong things, and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle. She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor. She shall not fear for her house in the cold of snow: for all her domestics are clothed with double garments. She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple, is her covering. Her husband is honourable in the gates, when he sitteth among the senators of the land. She made fine linen, and sold it, and delivered a girdle to the Chanaanite. Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day. She hath opened her mouth to wisdom, and the law of clemency is on her tongue. She hath looked well on the paths of her house, and hath not eaten her bread idle. Her children rose up, and called her blessed: her husband, and he praised her. Many daughters have gathered together riches: thou hast surpassed them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands: and let her works praise her in the gates.

  1. And from me, too, Mark.

Three Aves! but, because I will have 3 intentions, I will say, one set each , for…

    Your Mother, Anne.

    For my Mother, Anne, deceased.

For my Father, Eugene, who died on the Feast of Saint Anne in 1997 as my Mother, Anne, prayed the Litany of Saint Anne at his deathbed.

Ah, and while I am at it, let me make a fourth, for myself, since I am Elizabeth Anne.

Thank you for such a beautiful posting.

Happy Feast Day Wishes and Blessings!

  2. Off topic so don’t read if this is posted and you don’t want to read about the Epstein cover up.

Catherine Austin Fitts is a former government official at HUD under the first Bush. She has long been a whistle-blower on fraud in the US government, specifically in regards to the DoD.

When the Covid 19 vaccines came out she was one of the first to correctly point out that Trump’s “Warp Speed” program was run by the Department of Defense and part of that reason was to use vaccination as a military countermeasure, which means everything under it required no sunlight because it was an “emergency”.

She pointed out that using this emergency will soften the ground to herd us on to digital currencies that control our spending/behavior and make money laundering streamlined.

According to her, over the time period Jeffrey Epstein was hanging out with Clinton and Trump and celebrities, some 25 years until his death, 21 trillion dollars of US tax dollars went missing from DoD and HUD.

Remember how Rumsfeld said in 2001 the DoD couldn’t account for 1 trillion over the previous year? And then 911 happened and we forgot?

Her contention is that we’ve been laundering money to Israel and others but primarily Israel through Epstein who worked for Mossad. Epstein was Jewish and the man who made him someone overnight (Wexner, who has never been interviewed, ever) is as well.

Yes there is awful stuff in the Epstein files and that is reason enough for Trump not to release the files. But According to Fitts the files would make it too clear how the money was laundered, who laundered it, and for what purpose. And that would drive the public to mass revolt. Imagine if we had that 21 trillion back.

And the cover-up continues. Representative Massie had a bill that would force a vote on the release of the files and the day before it was to get to the floor, Speaker Johnson recessed congress for the summer early. Johnson asked why Massie would draft this bill now and not under Biden. Well Trump campaigned on releasing the files and his actions deserve the truth .

This isn’t going to go away. So look for some more major events in Russia or Iran to distract in short order. And if 911 was a nice way to deflect from pesky questions, I think a nuclear weapon false flag would keep things quiet for a long, long time.
