  1. Yeah so what is it with Kentucky Derby winner names seeming prophetic?

I’ve heard Protestants go on about it, too. Them not connecting it to Catholic developments but to other things of their concern, for example, Trump.

Is it all just confirmation bias & projection?

    1. Jeff, why throw manure upon the joy of a great Kentucky win? For those of us who love horses and a great race, especially a steed from the bloodline of the impressive Secretariat, as Mary reminds us in her Comment, what’s wrong with a little hope and cheer to brighten us with the coincidence of a name like Sovereignity as we wait and pray for our all important Conclave?

I cannot imagine Mark attaching anything prophetic to the win. Hope springs eternal, does it not? And what a cool name and a classic win to remind us that Our Sovereign King Jesus Christ will, in His own time and in His own way pull off a dramatic win to save His Church and when He does, He will show us He was not late but right on time.

      1. Elizabeth – How weird, that you would think I was knocking anything. I was asking a question. Good luck.

  2. His win was truly fitting. He is a descendant of the great Secretariat who preferred to start last and then run down every single horse on the track! Must run in the DNA!

    1. Thank you, Mary! Yes, no wonder! I well remember the thrill of the great Secretariat! What a magnificent horse was Secretariat and how magnificent is God’s Creation, enabling qualities to be passed along in the DNA!

  3. Thank you, Mark, for giving us the ability to view the Kentucky Derby win. I have loved horses from as long as I can remember. Not having a TV nor access to NBC online, I was happy you posted it and I was actually wondering if you would, recalling that you once wrote how watching the Kentucky Derby was a tradition in your family. I cheer with you over such a stunning horse race, on a sloppy wet track no less. The viewing of it brightened my day in the midst of storm clouds and yes, what a name, as we watch and pray for our Church in the worst storm of Her life. Thank you for the variety you give us at nvp. God bless you, IN Maria.
