Today is the 20th anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II. You can hardly find any commentary at any Catholic blog/outlet. I find it odd.
I remember being exhausted at his long declining health, amid the exposure of the infestation of sodomite rapist priests in 2002 and subsequent aftermath. Which of course we were still being lied to, and told even by “conservative” pastors how the media had really blown everything out of proportion. In reality, we didn’t know the half of it. Thank you, Randy Engel.
We didn’t know a lot of things in 2005, did we? And the troubles we did know of, we thought for sure when Ratzinger was elected a couple weeks later, he would fix them.
That was a long time ago.
Of course some of the 58 Sede Cult regard PJP2 as a false pope and a heretic.
This man suffered for years and was in absolute pain for Jesus. Unlike Francis, he always kneeled. And I’ll submit few people would be as brave as he was, especially certain big talking Catholic bloggers.
Not a perfect pope, but a good pope. And his suffering was an example that has few rivals.
If Wotjla is a saint, is the Mohammedan book he kissed a relic?
Great point!
If a Saint wiped his nose, is the tissue a relic?
You have to understand what heresy is, what relics are. But we live in cartoon land.
Relics are items used by the Saints.
Used by the saints.
Used. By. The saints.
The older I get the more I realize how stupid even the so called Trad and Sede catholic divisons are.
As IF there is no division in the NO religion? What a silly argument to refute SVism. What do you do with the upwards of 70% of “Catholics” within the NO who don’t believe in the Real Presence? The 90% who believe contraception is fine? The high percentage of those who believe homos can marry? No. The divisions within all these groups point to the truth of sedevacantism…..no pope to unify us.
Tell me. What Catholic doctrines do sedes not believe?
The dogma of indefectibility, for starters, which teaches that the Church cannot lose apostolic succession before the end of time, or the traditional teaching that to be a successor of the apostles formally you must have legal jurisdiction. If every bishop appointed before Pius XII died, how is it that the Church did not defect?
And being awfully close to the end of time still counts as before the end of time.
T, what do you believe indefectibility means?
St. Augustine said something to the effect that even if only a few believing Catholics remain, that is the Church.
As to jurisdiction, the Church will always supply. We do have valid bishops in both SSPX (only 2 now) and of course the sede bishops.
There is no doubt he suffered, and he knew how to use suffering as a tool.
Yes. I pray that the intense suffering he went through at the end was his purgatory on earth. He made many, many mistakes worthy of the fires of hell, but I pray that instead, he was or is in purgatory so he’ll make it.
James, your Church says he’s a Saint, so he cannot be in purgatory. He never publicly recanted of his heresies. Only a new religion can claim he’s in purgatory.
Kono, he was “Canonized” by an antipope. I think we three all agree on that. I too hope he earned the Beatific Vision, but if he did, he’s probably burning off the bad stuff for some time to come.
Mark, fair enough; canonized by a false pope. But what of Ratzinger who a month after JP2’s death opened his cause?
Generous of you to believe JP could be in purgatory…but not likely with pre-VII teachings. He was a public, very public, heretic and apostate who never recanted publicly.
A short little podcast from NOW. It’s only 15 mins, but the last half is about JP2.

Here’s a list of his ‘Top 101’ heresies:

We are sinners and have a lot to answer for, though by regarding – and promoting – that man as ‘a man of God’s is, thankfully, not one that I will have to provide account of.
Absolutely shocking list there. How can anyone consider him a saint. It’s an insult to the martyrs and true saints. Thanks for posting.
Mark: please learn the correct terms.
• False pope is a false pope;
• Anti-pope is a false pope WHEN there is at the same time and authentic pope.
Wotylya (whatever the spelling) is a false pope; there was no authentic claimant to the See of Peter at that time, nor 20 years before-hand, nor since.
Miss Bernhardt, if you are perusing, likewise, please adopt the correct terminology: Bergoglio the Terrible is not an ANTIi-pope; he is simply a FALSE pope (as was that great vandal of the Robber Council, the suit & tie-wearing pin-up boy if the Modernists, Fr. Ratzinger.)
👋👋👋. And for the umpteenth time Ann, when are you ever going to get around to clearly explaining the ’58 sede errors? Or having that (fascinating, your description) round table discussion? Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
Look. Can’t we all just have the humility to admit that there are reasonable arguments for the 58 sede position, there are reasonable arguments for the 22 sede position, and – even if we consider the one or the other more reasonable – reasonable men can differ?
Especially as a great deal of the evidence to objectively prove or disprove is still occult.
None of us are heretics – or if we are, it’s material heresy. We WANT to believe what the Catholic Church has always taught even if we have to unlearn many of the things the VII Church taught us. Likewise, none of us are schismatics – we WANT to follow and submit to the Bishop of Rome, even if we don’t necessarily agree on whether we had one for the past seventy years.
Especially for arguments based more on inference, paradigms, and emanations & penumbras of accepted principles rather than facts.
Time and the Divine Providence will tell, but in the meantime, the smoke of Satan clouds the battlefield. Everyone should advocate for what he discerns, to the best of his ability, but none of us who see this problem clearly should regard his brothers in Tradition as the enemy!
Until the Church rules or God intervenes decisively, stop attacking those who should be your friends and natural allies!
To deny the (authentic ’58) Sede position is to deny the Church, Her dogma, Her infallibility, Her indefectability and Her spotlessness.
The Church and Her teachings are infallible; She can not defect from teaching that which is infallible; She can not teach or pronounce error; She is unblemished – not just in some vain theoretical sense, nor ‘on paper’, but ostensibly and recognisably – and this is an identifying or hallmark feature.
Cause can be discerned via effect. That the most holy See of Peter has been vacant since Pius XII, given what the ‘successor’ usurpers enacted, gives testimony to this.
All the men in white cassocks since PXII are false popes. Roncalli was an occultist; Montini a sodomite; Luciano a ‘well meaning’ heretic, Wotylya an actor and apostate, Ratzinger a perhaps somewhat repentant Modernist though still a heretic & not a formal (i.e. valid) pope and Bergoglio, well… repugnantly & manifestly wicked.
To all the 1958 sedes… how do you explain all of the Eucharistic Miracles that have been happening in novus ordo churches since Vatican 2?
Either:
(1) By demons performing wonders; e.g. Moses vs the witch-doctors when they, like Moses, conjured their staffs into serpents (and Moses’s staff ate their snakes) and which most Sedes would advance; or
(2) My own imagining, and therefore probably wrong, that God suspends super-natural law, in His mercy. It is devotion to the most Blessed Sacrament that leads people out of the N.O. Mass and into the TLM; and likewise from the false NO church to traditional (i.e. Sede) chapels, communities & priests. Most Sedes would take most sharp umbridge to this suggestion, saying the NO is a false religion and God does not validate false religions with miracles (and which I have just attempted to explain around).
It was the Mason criminal Annabel Bugnini who oversaw the ‘re-imagining’ of the Sacraments in 1968 and, sadly, they are wholly invalid and, as function of such, the ‘Apostolic pipeline’ has, over the course of time, been cut-off in the formal Latin Church. Things are very very much worse than one might suspect. All the NO & FSSP ‘priests’ are not priests. It’s dreadful, truly dreadful.
No one here other than Kono will countenance this, it is most confronting, however if you seek the truth, God will guide you.
I suggest reading Fr. Anthony Cekada’s seminal work regarding the 1968 Pauline ‘Episcopal’ sacrament where he categorically shows that it is null & void. It’s not even doubtful to an honest reading (and disheartening that the SSPX, in their obduracy, refuse to give it such).
‘Akita’ in the similarly spelt Portuguese – which presently alludes me – means ‘here it is’ and the message given there is it: the only arms that will remain for you is the Rosary (and obviously devotion to the Immaculate Heart) and the Sign left by my Son (i.e. the Cross)’ and both of these are represented in the Vatican’s 3rd Secret.
Mark recently reproduced a tract by the most laudable ‘Fr.’ David Nix on this very subject and that particular portion from it; where he pondered, with unease, if such meant that the Sacraments will be taken away at some point in the future.
Most lamentably, he got it half right and half wrong: in the formal Latin Church the Sacraments HAVE BEEN taken away, some decades past.
Don’t shoot the messenger, this affects me too.
Get to – at least – to an SSPX Chapel (with an authenticly ordained priest) and get validly Confirmed, enrolled in the Scapula, Sacramentals blessed, etc., etc.
Well, we know the “miracles” they claim for the canonization process for JP2 were bogus …it’s probably something like that. We also know that in the end times the anti-Christ will appear to perform “miracles” too.
Bottomline for a simple sede like me? popes CANNOT do or teach the things these post conciliar “popes” have done and taught. Impossible. Otherwise the Church has indeed defected. Another impossibility.
