Biden spends final hours enshrining his enduring legacy

I can’t help but think how much this helps Trump, in a bad way… freeing him from the responsibility to pursue justice against these criminals. But fear not, they will ultimately pay for their crimes, in this life or the next.

  1. Come now, Trump was never going to go after anyone. He’s a coward. Was a coward the last time.

And indeed, as with the deportations on day one, Trump telegraphed this for a year, on purpose, to provoke this and then say he can’t do anything.

Nothing stops. All the misery continues, or gets worse.

I’d be surprised if Trump pardons the Jan 6ers, actually. But one thing is for sure, this is going to be the Musk/Netanyahu/Zelensky presidency.

  2. Mark, btw – “I can’t help but think how much this helps Trump, in a bad way… freeing him from the responsibility to pursue justice against these criminals”

    Not really.

    1. Pre-emptive / blanket pardons in general, might be unconstitutional – might be stripped.

    2. Biden pardons in particular, due to his incompetence and/or corrupt motives, might be unconstitutional – might be stripped.

    3. Even if the pardons are allowed to stick: The subjects lose their 5th Amendment right to refuse testimony. Viewed as a grant of immunity followed later with compelled testimony, the pardons might help Trump-Vance-Bondi go after more crucial fish. (Gates, anyone? Rockefellers?)

The larger point: There is a lot we don’t know, a lot that we peons are not seeing, a lot still in play.
