The Exaltation of the Holy Cross… the triumphant joy of learning to love your own cross

Pick up your cross daily, and follow Him. Learn how to USE your suffering, cooperating with grace, to unite your cross to His Cross. It’s the only way.  Exaltation/Exultation (I’ve seen it both ways) literally means Triumphant Joy. This needs to be our attitude toward our cross and His Cross; it’s our path to holiness. Blessed feast.

INTROIT Gal. 6:14
But it is fitting that we should glory in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom is salvation, life, and resurrection for us, by whom we are saved and delivered. Ps. 66:2. May God have mercy on us and bless us; may He let His face shine upon us; and may He have mercy upon us.

  1. Some people have heavier crosses than others. Some people have many crosses. And God allows that. And no, it’s not fair.

      1. I like your politics Mike, but your faith stinks to high heaven in this comment. How dare you assume Mark’s (or anyone else’s for that matter) have lighter crosses than you. We have God’s Word which says He gives us NOT more than we can handle. Constant complaining about our crosses is very unbecoming in a Catholic. Shame on you.

        1. This is my 3rd attempt to reply. Editors always control the narrative you know.

Jesus Himself complained about His cross, Kono. It’s not easy. Those that say things like “we deserve worse” or “you should be ashamed of yourself” for complaining simply don’t have it that bad.

At least Mark knows what I’m going through, and if he were honest he’d admit I have a point.

And shame on you Kono for abandoning the Church to join the little Sede club .

This is my last comment on this site. I always find it curious how the coldest people around are usually the Trad Catholics. Crazy times.

          1. Know that I prayed for you at Mass today and you were in my Rosary intentions.

Difference between me and my “sede” faith and yours; I know that I know that God is never unjust nor wrong. And btw, I had many tough crosses to carry to get to where I am today. If your crosses seem unbearable, maybe look into what ones may be of your own doing. And if they absolutely are not of your own making ..know that God is not being unjust. He’s Perfect….just as His Church is…which is why I’m sede.😉
