19 killed, 86 wounded in shootings during extended Fourth of July weekend in Chicago
More than 100 people were shot, including 19 who were killed, during shooting attacks in Chicago over the extended Fourth of July weekend.
This year’s holiday violence includes four mass shootings. In all, 24 people were shot, four fatally, in the mass attacks.
Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling will join Mayor Brandon Johnson at 9 a.m. to address the shootings during a meeting at Public Safety Headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Ave.
“We are devastated by the recent violence that has left our city in a state of grief, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and communities impacted by these recent events,” Mayor Johnson’s office said in an earlier statement…

This time last year, I was a crime victim while in Los Diablos, oops, I meant to say Los Angeles. When I went to the police station the day after, I had to walk past half and fully naked people, shooting up, on the steps of the police station. Every night during that hellish week, I woke up at least twice each night by people screaming on the street. And, on my final day there, one of my co-workers witnessed a crazed homeless guy stab a random stranger in broad daylight outside a 5-star hotel. Gavin Newsone for President!!!!
Regarding the latest post on heretics not being able to be pope. This is true. Of course. However, as Barnhardt points out, it is important to realize that Bergoglio is an antipope because Benedict failed to resign. Therefore Bergoglio was never pope, which is why he appears to simultaneously be a heretic and a pope.
I have a theory about the German race being uniquely talented in screwing things up. For the past 500 years all human misery has come from them. The modernist turned “conservative ” Ratzinger is a perfect example. He did so much damage to the Church. The most of any pope in history.
Uh. I can think of quite a few other groups who have screwed things up way more than them pesky Germans. Not all human misery came from one group, either.
Ok, so who ruined Christianity? Martin Luther. Where did western atheism come from? German philosophy. The French Revolution was inspired by Rousseau and his primary influence was Kant (German). Communism was a German idea, based on German philosophy (Marx, Hegel, etc). The first welfare state was Germany. Public schools were invented by Germany. World Wars 1, 2, Germany. The inventor of chemical warfare? Haber. Who rushed to weaponize the atom? The Germans.
And who destroyed the Catholic Church with his hip new ideas on a co-papacy with an active and emeritus office? Benedict XVI. What was his nationality?
Not all misery comes from one group of people, but the Germans are running away with the last 500 years.
Mike, I always loved Pope Benedict but I’m afraid you’re correct. He did more damage than all the rest. May God have mercy on his soul
