New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday declared a state of emergency over polio to boost vaccination rates in the state amid further evidence that the virus is spreading in communities.

Poliovirus has now been detected in sewage samples from four counties in the New York metro area as well as in the city itself. The counties are Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, and the latest, Nassau.

The samples tested positive for poliovirus that can cause paralysis in humans, according to state health officials. Unvaccinated individuals who live, work, go to school or visit Orange, Rockland, Nassau, New York City and Sullivan are at the highest risk of paralytic disease, officials said.

New York began wastewater surveillance after an unvaccinated adult caught polio in Rockland County in July and suffered from paralysis, the first known infection in the U.S. in nearly a decade.

The emergency declaration will expand the network of vaccine administrators to include pharmacists, midwives and EMS workers in an effort to boost the immunization rate in areas where it has slipped.

New York Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Bassett called on people who are unvaccinated to get their shots immediately. Individuals and families who are unsure of their vaccination status should contact a health care provider, clinic or the county health department to make sure they are up to date on their shots.

“On polio, we simply cannot roll the dice,” Bassett said. “I urge New Yorkers to not accept any risk at all. Polio immunization is safe and effective — protecting nearly all people against disease who receive the recommended doses.”

The polio vaccination rate is alarmingly low in some New York counties. The vaccination rate is 60% in Rockland, 58% in Orange, 62% in Sullivan and 79% in Nassau, according to the health department. The statewide average for polio immunization is about 79%.

The goal of the vaccination campaign is to boost immunization rates well above 90% statewide, according to the health department.

Some New Yorkers should get boosted

Some New Yorkers who completed their vaccine series should receive a single lifetime booster shot, health officials said. These individuals include people who might have contact with someone infected or thought to be infected with poliovirus or members of the infected person’s household.

Health care workers should also get a booster if they work in areas where poliovirus has been detected and they might handle specimens or treat patients who may have polio. People who might be exposed to wastewater due to their job should also consider getting a booster, health officials said.

All children should receive four doses of the polio vaccine. The first dose is administered between 6 weeks and 2 months of age, the second dose is given at 4 months, the third at 6 months to 18 months, and the fourth dose at 4 to 6 years old.

Adults who have only received one or two doses should get the remaining one or two. Health officials said it doesn’t matter how long ago the first doses were given.

Sorry for the headline, but it’s the ugly truth.

Also, there is irony. I’ll get to that in a minute.

Because he couldn’t help chasing after Wallis Simpson, a twice divorced, shameless tramp who loved ambition almost as much as she loved fornication and adultery (and probably worse).

This isn’t detraction; you can easily look up the sordid details.

King Edward, the head of the Church of England, wasn’t allowed to marry a woman with two living “ex” husbands. The C of E still had morals back in 1936, and so many of its faithful actually held those morals, that Edward could not get away with changing the rules.

So Edward abdicated, and the crown passed to his brother George, and then George to his daughter Elizabeth, who proceeded to oversee the wholesale destruction of the entire moral order.

Which gets us to the irony. You see, if the Edwardian situation had occurred today, after the elimination of all moral precepts under the leadership of Elizabeth, Edward could have remained king without the batting of an eye, and Lizzy would never have been queen. Love wins!

Anyhow, credit where credit is due, old Eddie at least knew how to make sure that his abdication was clear, legal, and unassailable. The title of the document gives it away, the body specifies the particulars in short order, and no one ever questioned it’s effect. Sort of completely the opposite of what Pope Benedict did. Today is September 8th, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

Sometimes you just have to laugh when God so clearly presents you with your task for the day. Remember, He planned for you to be alive in this world at this very moment; you were born for this, and His expectations are not a null set. Incredibly, my task today is to explain ancient Jewish marriage rituals. As it happens, there are Jews in my family, so I have first hand knowledge of how this works. The traditional rituals are virtually the same today as they were at the time of Christ.

But first, may I just say, you really need to get to know your Mother, the glorious and immaculate Virgin. The more love you have for her in your heart, the more room in your heart for Christ, and the more willing He is to dwell there. In the first hour of her birth, Mary bore more glory than all the Old Testament saints, and in that same hour, had already attained more sanctity than all the New Testament saints while they yet lived.

Your greatest confidence is to be entrusted to your Mother, who gave us the wedding at Cana as the first glimpse of her under the title Virgin Most Powerful. Gospel of John, chapter two. Wine runs out, Mary asks Jesus to help, Jesus says no, Mary doesn’t take no for an answer. Nope. GOD INCARNATE OVERRULED BY MOM. Not only does Jesus give in to Mary’s request, not only does He make more wine, really good wine, like the best wine evah, He makes 150 GALLONS OF WINE. Oh how the prots must hate John 2.

Now of course, Mary knew perfectly well that her request was aligned with Christ’s divine will, and that He would carry it out accordingly. God, being perfect, cannot act against His own will, and a creature cannot order God around. But here we have Christ as a model of the Fourth Commandment, even as he is yet God. This same dynamic plays out today, inside the Beatific Vision. Let’s just say the Holy Mother of God is… influential. He listens to her, and she wants to obtain and deliver great graces for you.

Folks, pray the Rosary every day.

So here is the deal with Mary’s marriage to Joseph. In the Jewish tradition, there are three steps to the marriage ritual. Today, all three steps happen on the same day. In ancient times, there could be long periods of time between the steps, especially the last two steps (up to a year). But the key point is this: The spouses are really married, lawfully married, at the very first step. This is the signing of the Ketubah, the marriage contract, which is countersigned by the parents.

The next step is espousal/betrothal in the Kiddushin, followed by the final step of Nissuin. Traditionally, these could take place up to a year apart, during which time the couple do not yet live together. This was the case for Mary and Joseph. Today the two rites take place minutes apart in the same ceremony, with the couple standing together with their parents under the huppah.

But what does the bible say?

Part of the confusion comes from our encounter with the Annunciation, which appears only in Luke. After explaining the miraculous conception of the Forerunner, Luke lays out the Annunciation and the Visitation, followed by the Nativity of St. John. The only term used in the first chapter of Luke is “espoused/betrothed,” which people misconstrue into thinking they were only “engaged.”

However, if you turn to chapter two and the birth of Jesus, you will see in Luke 2:4-5:

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child.

WIFE. That is why Joseph, before he was visited by the angel, had decided to quietly divorce Mary (under the old law). You don’t divorce someone you’re not married to.

But the bigger clincher is from Matthew:

And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations. Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately. But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.  Matt 1:16-20

NEW YORK CITY — Americans may need to get a single Covid-19 vaccination every year, federal health officials said Tuesday, making clear that the country will be living with the coronavirus for the foreseeable future.

“This week marks an important shift in our fight against the virus,” said Dr. Ashish Jha, who is leading the White House Covid-19 Response Team. “It marks our ability to make Covid vaccines a more routine part of our lives as we continue to drive down serious illness and deaths and protect Americans heading into the fall and winter.”

Though Tuesday’s announcement isn’t a surprise — the Biden administration has been hinting at such a shift since the spring — it is a significant moment…

Jha said the newly authorized updated Covid-19 boosters would be free of charge to all who qualify and want them, but future vaccines and treatments may not be, as funding for the pandemic response dwindles and the government begins to shift therapeutics to the commercial market.

Vaccine experts said the shift to yearly shots signals that Covid-19 isn’t going away.

“Our great-great-grandchildren will be getting coronavirus vaccines,” said Dr. Gregory Poland, who directs the Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group…

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Tuesday that although he expects this fall to be the beginning of annual shots for Covid-19, those who have weakened immune systems might need more frequent protection.

“In the absence of a dramatically different variant, we likely are moving towards a path with a vaccination cadence similar to that of the annual influenza vaccine, with annual updated Covid-19 shots matched to the currently circulating strains for most of the population,” he said.

…Joe Biden was never legitimately elected, and he knows it. That’s why he’s so shrill, defensive, and angry — like a thief caught in the act. Beyond all the election night shenanigans documented by 2000 Mules and other journalistic inquiries, he knows about how state laws were changed or simply flouted to allow mail-in balloting, easy to fake.

He knows how a massive conspiracy of media outlets suppressed the facts about his son’s laptop, rife with proof of Biden family corruption. He knows — having read it in TIME magazine — how billionaires, local election officials, social media monopolies and most major media colluded to skew the 2020 vote.

And he knows that half the country realizes all this and scorns him. The participation trophy that is his senile marionette presidency is forever tarnished, will go into honest history books with an asterisk. And he hates us for realizing that, and daring to speak it.

Biden doesn’t actually govern, and knows that too. He is the rapidly spoiling meat puppet of an Oligarchy that conspired, so far successfully, to suppress the people’s will. To impose on them forced vaccines, pointless and health-destroying lockdowns, mass euthanasia by COVID in nursing homes, illegal open borders and a shameful surrender in Afghanistan.

To strip them of affordable energy. To deny them their constitutional right to legislate protection for unborn babies, or children rendered sexually confused by drag queen acts and pornographic indoctrination in their schools. To lavish their money on a pointless war in Ukraine, whose only apparent purpose is to kill and cripple Russians. To transfer the debt burden of Queer Theory graduates onto the backs of plumbers and cops.

Biden knows Americans don’t want these things, but his orders from The Top are to impose them on us for our own good. So he must demonize, criminalize, and finally terrorize the opposition…
