Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter: Power of the keys to bind and loose means Christ bound HIMSELF to Peter and his successors

GOSPEL Matt. 16:13-19

At that time, Jesus came into the quarters of Caesarea Philippi: and he asked his disciples, saying: “Whom do men say that the Son of man is?” But they said: “Some John the Baptist, and other some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.” Jesus saith to them:”But whom do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said: “Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.”

And Jesus answering said to him: “Blessed art thou, Simon BarJona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.”

First things first. Notice how Jesus insists on an answer, and Peter, having made use of his intellect to discern the reality in front of him, gives an answer. It is interesting that given Peter was “Illiterate and ignorant” (Acts 4:13), notice what doesn’t happen: Jesus does NOT instruct him to go get the opinion of more “learned men”… not the Sadducees, nor Pharisees, nor high priests, nor the Sanhedrin.

“Who do YOU say that I am?”

Reminds me of our old friend, canon 748.1:

Can. 748 §1. All persons are bound to seek the truth in those things which regard God and his Church and by virtue of divine law are bound by the obligation and possess the right of embracing and observing the truth which they have come to know.

Can I get an Amen?

So Peter in Matt 16 is now destined to receive the keys, and the power to bind and loose, which necessarily comes with the following protections: “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren.” (Luke 22:32) This is why true popes CANNOT propose error as truth, cannot promulgate heresy in the Magisterium, cannot lead the faithful astray with lie after pernicious lie. If a true pope were able to do any of those things, it would make Our Lord a liar in Luke 22:32. Pick a side.

Furthermore, we can deduce the reality of Supernatural divine protection even without the Scripture. If Our Lord was going to leave His Church in the hands of mere men, of course it would need to be He Himself backstopping their dimmed rational intellects and concupiscence, through the negative protection of the Holy Ghost. He could not possibly bind Himself to Peter without this guarantee. Does it really seem like the deployment of that mechanism is happening right now?

If not, why not?

May each one of us, even dimwitted laymen like myself, take heart in being questioned directly by Our Lord to search for truth, by scrutinizing the evidence. Canon 748.1 reminds us that it is not a mere suggestion, but rather a moral duty, for ALL PERSONS. If it appears impossible that Bergoglio is true pope of the Catholic Church, Vicar of Christ on earth, then you are duty-bound to research how his usurpation could have come about. Formal pronouncements from those with proper authority will come later. But first, the truth must out, as it always does.

Happy feast!

“These moderns, forever prattling about culture and civilization, are undermining the Church’s doctrine, laws, and practices. They are not concerned very much about culture and civilization. By using such high-sounding words they think they can conceal the wickedness of their schemes. All of you know their purpose, subterfuges, and methods. On Our part We have denounced and condemned their scheming. They are proposing a universal apostasy even worse than the one that threatened the age of Charles [Borromeo]. It is worse, We say, because it stealthily creeps into the very veins of the Church, hides there, and cunningly pushes erroneous principles to their ultimate conclusions.”

Pope St. Pius X, Encyclical Editae Saepe, nn. 17-18, 1910

“All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.”

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Thus are the first five verses of the Holy Gospel according to John, heard at the end of every Traditional Latin Mass. These short verses sum up the entire reality of the universe, and those who are at war with reality spend entire lifetimes trying to prove reality false.

Without him was made nothing that was made. The darkness did not comprehend it.

Like sands through the hourglass…

See below, some greatness from Dr. Briggs. I bought his new book, but have barely had time to crack it. You will need a little background in math and physics to understand some of the things he talks about, but the central theme is the “scientific” rejection of God the Creator by said “scientists,” even when He stares back at them in their experiments. Math and physics are deeply spiritual and hope-inspiring when viewed through the lens of Faith. But when God becomes the answer more obviously, they must reject Him moar harder. Where this leads us is to Homer Simpson describing how the multiverse in quite plainly the simplest explanation of how and why things work. Because they want to be their own gods.

Physicists Trying To Show God Not Necessary Prove God Is Necessary

BY BRIGGS ON  • ( 59 COMMENTS )

There must be a reason that 2i + 2i = 4i, an unobservable number, as all numbers are, but as is most obvious in numbers like i = sqrt(-1).

There must be a reason why there are not just an infinity, but infinities, of numbers between 0 and 1.

There must be a reason logic tells us we cannot conclude with certainty “Jane loves foreign wars” if we accept “Most professors love foreign wars and Jane is a professor”. There must be a reason we can know truth and know falsity.

There must be a reason the fine-structure constant α equals e^2/(2*ε_0ch), and that e the elementary charge equals 1.602176634 x 10-19, just as there must be a reason c, the speed of light, and h, the Planck constant take the values they do.

There must be a reason that something exists rather than nothing. Where nothing includes the absence of all things, including numbers, logic, thought.

The Way Things Are must have a reason why they are the way they are, and are not some other way. Things have to have a creation, which requires a Creator. This is God.

The Things I mean are the foundations of the world. And the world is all that there is.

Some say not world but universe, a fine word, but nervous physicists have corrupted its meaning while attempting to bypass the requirement of a Creator. It’s never clear whether they mean all that there is or this one tiny “universe” in an infinite sea of “universes.”

I was reminded of all this in a review of Stephen Meyer’s new book Return of the God Hypothesis: Three Scientific Discoveries That Reveal the Mind Behind the Universe.

The review states that the fine-structure constant’s

value is close to 1/137. If it were slightly different—closer to, say, 1/138—elemental carbon could not form in our universe. Life as we know it could not exist. But no theory predicts the value of the fine-structure constant. It doesn’t have to be what it is: it just happens to be precisely situated in the narrow sliver of values amenable to life. And the fine-structure constant is only one of many constants which appear minutely tuned to support life.

It continues:

The materialist’s usual explanation for our universe’s 12 perfectly tuned constants is that there exists an infinite or nearly-infinite number of universes, each one exhibiting a different combination of values for these constants. We happen to find ourselves in a universe where the constants just happen to allow the existence of our sort of life—not because of any Grand Designer, but merely because life as we know it could evolve only in a universe where the values of the constants just happen to be so aligned. We cannot observe other universes. So no experiment—even in principle—can provide evidence to refute or confirm the multiple-universe hypothesis.

Meyer, the review states, “finds such appeals to imagined and unobservable worlds unscientific”, mentioning Ockham’s razor.

Yet whether or no these other “universes” are scientific, which is to say measurable, they do not obviate God. There still has to be a reason why our “universe” is how it is; how it was picked. And there still has to be a reason for the picking; and reasons why picking exists, and how picking works.

There has to be a reason why the multiverse, if it really exists, is the way it is. If fine-structure constants are in some available set and some cause picks one for each new universe, there has to be a reason this is so.

Cosmologist “Alexander Vilenkin,” the review continues,

has proposed that a process called “quantum tunneling” from superspace into a real universe can produce space and time, matter and energy. But such tunneling must be governed by laws that are in existence “even prior to the universe itself,” Vilenkin has written. He continues: “The laws are expressed in the form of mathematical equations. If the medium of mathematics is the mind, does this mean that mind should predate the universe?” Vilenkin never answers his own question. As his silence implies, scientists are hesitant to embrace, or even to mention, what Meyer considers the best explanation for our current observations: the God hypothesis.

We can answer it: yes, the mind must come before the equations. Something has to think the equations, they cannot think themselves into existence. And then, if these are the true equations that describe the causes operating in the world, something has to breathe life into them. There must be an act of creation.

This must be God, and, as the quotation goes, there can be only one. For if there were more than one, each responsible for separate domains, there must then exist a reason above them that accounts for separation of duties, why this god does thought and this one quantum tunneling.

You can keep going, adding higher organizational levels, manager gods in charge of worker gods, and director gods in charge of manager gods, but you can’t go on forever. There must be One Final Source. And this must be God.

Science only speaks about causes of things it can measure. It cannot say how the things that can be measured, or their causes, came into being.

“Repair the ruined mansions, that Thou mayest dwell therein.” Novena in Honor of the Most Holy Face of Jesus begins today

Novena in Honor of the
Most Holy Face of Jesus

 the Holy Face of Jesus
“I firmly wish that my face reflecting the intimate pains of my soul, the suffering and love of my heart, be more honored! Whoever gazes upon me already consoles me.” (Our Lord Jesus Christ to Sister Pierina)

“All those who, attracted by my love, and venerating my countenance, shall receive, by virtue of my humanity, a brilliant and vivid impression of my divinity. This splendor shall enlighten the depths of their souls, so that in eternal glory the celestial court shall marvel at the marked likeness of their features with my divine countenance.” (Our Lord Jesus Christ to St. Gertrude)

DAILY PREPARATORY PRAYER O Most Holy and Blessed Trinity, through the intercession of Holy Mary, whose soul was pierced through by a sword of sorrow at the sight of the passion of her Divine Son, we ask Thy help in making a perfect Novena of reparation with Jesus, united with all His sorrows, love and total abandonment. We now implore all the Angels and Saints to intercede for us as we pray this Holy Novena to the Most Holy Face of Jesus and for the glory of the most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

First Day (Console Holy Face and recite Daily Preparatory Prayer) Psalm 51, 3-4.
Have mercy on me, O God in Thy goodness, in Thy great tenderness wipe away my faults;
wash me clean of my guilt, purify me from my sin.O most Holy Face of Jesus, look with tenderness on us who are sinners. Thou art a merciful God, full of love and compassion. Keep us pure of heart, so that we may see Thee always. Mary, our Mother, intercede for us; Saint Joseph, pray for us.Through the merits of Thy precious blood and Thy Holy Face, O Jesus, grant us our petition, Pardon and Mercy.

Prayer to Our Almighty Father Almighty Father, come into our hearts, and so fill us with Thy love that forsaking all evil desires, we may embrace Thee, our only good. Show us, O Lord our God, what thou art to us. Say to our souls, I am Thy salvation, speak so that we may hear. Our hearts are before Thee; open our ears; let us hasten after Thy voice. Hide not Thy Face from us, we beseech Thee, O Lord. Open our hearts so that Thou mayest enter in. Repair the ruined mansions, that Thou mayest dwell therein. Hear us, O Heavenly Father, for the sake of Thine only Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with Thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever Amen.(St. Augustine)

Sacraments – Matter, Form, And Intent explainer

By now, you’ve heard about the priest in Phoenix who performed invalid Baptisms for twenty years. He used the pronoun “We” instead of “I” in the formula. Since Christ is doing the baptizing through the person of the priest, only “I” works. This really isn’t difficult.

But what about Ecclesia supplet (canon 144.1)? Can’t the Church or God supply the proper Form, since the priest had the right intention? No, Ecclesia supplet doesn’t apply here, because this isn’t an issue of jurisdiction or governance, and there is no doubt about what happened. It wasn’t done properly, making it invalid, sacrament not conferred, sacramental graces not flowing, Original Sin not remitted. Period, full stop.

Think about it. What would be the purpose of doing it right in the first place, if doing it right didn’t matter? This issue is of tremendous importance, because it applies equally to the other Sacraments. If you’ve ever heard a priest in the confessional say, “and God absolves you of your sins,” as the formula of absolution, that absolution is invalid. The formula is, “and I absolve you (ego te absolvo).” Or what if a priest, wait, no, what if an antipope changes the words of Consecration to “This is His body” … it would instantly make the Novus Ordo invalid, and every tabernacle in the world would be transformed into a bread box.

Anyway, I have been meaning to write all this up, but the nice gal at Restore-DC-Catholicism did the heavy listing yesterday. I could not find a way to contact her to ask permission, but I am just going to paste it here anyway. Be sure to check out the links she included. Get educated and be prepared to defend the Sacraments should some Bishop in White try to invalidate them, not by accident but with malice aforethought.

Sacraments – Matter, Form, And Intent

Recently a priest in the Diocese of Phoenix resigned after it was discovered that his misuse of pronouns during baptism ceremonies rendered the sacrament invalid.  He did this to hundreds of babies over the years.  The upshot is that they never received the graces pertaining to baptism.  Original sin was not remitted.  Subsequent sacraments received by the affected individuals were likewise rendered invalid and perhaps some died in that state.

I’m now going to post some links that give the Church’s teachings on the topic of Sacraments, and the Sacrament of Baptism in particular.  Please bear in mind that Jesus Christ has empowered the Magisterium over the centuries to pronounce His teachings.  Also bear in mind that Sacraments and their attendant graces are objective realities, apart from any experiences or judgments that we may harbor.  Please see thisthis, and this.

Bishop Olmsted is a bishop who takes his responsibilities seriously.  Understanding the spiritual peril in which many of his people were placed, he is taking measures to ensure that as many as possible are notified so that they can receive proper baptisms, confirmations, etc.

This situation is being discussed on social media.  On Facebook, I am reading comments that display an abysmal lack of understanding and appreciation of the sacraments.  As a summary, I will paraphrase some of the opinions that seem to be prevalent:

  • God only cares about the intention of those involved
  • This is not a big deal.
  • The bishop is nit-picking
  • It is cruel to exclude these people from the Church

All of these statements display common erroneous mind-sets.  They are evaluating baptism from the stance of mere subjective experience.  They deem the badly-administered sacrament to be valid because of “trauma” that some might experience, utterly disregarding the fact that sacraments are objective realities that are independent of their opinions.

As we understand in the reading of the links, the reality of the Sacraments hinges on three things: intent, matter and form.  A defect in any one of those things will render the sacrament invalid.  These other people seem to appreciate intent, but have little disregard for form.   That parish priest uttered the words “we baptize you” instead of “I baptize you”, undermining the understanding that it is Christ who baptizes through the priest.

I don’t know the ages of these people, but I strongly suspect that their Catholic education was compromised by the proceeds of Vatican II.  Mine was, but my earlier years weren’t.  They gave me some decent frame of reference that served to at least partially shield me from some of the pernicious modernist lies.  Later on I embarked on some self-reading and education, still ongoing, to rid my mind of lingering nonsense.

I say that because if someone can dismiss the Church’s emphasis on proper form as “nitpicking” and “legalism”, they simply did not receive a decent Catholic education.  I hope it is that, for if they do know the Church’s centuries-old teaching on these matters and still scoff at them, they place their souls in danger.  I and some others actually posted links to Church teaching, most of which were summarily dismissed.  As long as Catholics insist on elevating their own emotions above what Our Lord objectively teaches, we will see much of the Church collapse like a house of cards.  The rest of us must continue to pray and to speak the truth, regardless of the mockery that comes our way.

“Covid data will no longer be published over concerns it is misrepresented by anti-vaxxers”

Data about the vaccines is disappearing
By Alex Berenson Feb 17

Scotland is one of the most transparent countries about Covid vaccines.

Whoops!

I mean Scotland WAS one of the most transparent. The country just said mRNA shots work so well that the raw data showing how well they work will no longer be released.

Because they work so well.

“Misrepresented” means screenshotted for everyone to see (though, sigh, I am not an anti-vaxxer anymore than someone who investigated thalidomide in 1965 is an “anti-mediciner.”)

Here’s the final chart we’ll ever have. Rates of death remain lower in people who were not vaccinated than those who received two doses, as they have for months:

Now let’s look at the whole chart, including boosters – no misinformation here!

SOURCE

13 out of the 104 people who died of Covid in Scotland in the week ending Feb. 4 were unvaccinated. In the 4 weeks ending Feb. 4, 61 of the 478 people were unvaccinated. (That’s equivalent to about 30,000 deaths in the United States.) In other words, almost 9 out of 10 of the people who die in Scotland are vaccinated, and the vast majority of those are boosted. And deaths remain stubbornly high, even though Omicron is far milder.

Scotland was among a handful of countries to publish data at this level of detail. I suspect the others will follow its lead.

The novel Covid vaccine experiment is over. It’s ending. It’s failed. The authorities know the truth as well as anyone else.

They are taking their only possible course of action: end the mandates, hide the raw numbers, and hope there are no long-term problems and everyone forgets.Oh yeah, and try to censor anyone who won’t.

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida REALLY doesn’t want you to see their inpatient Coof census. So lemme just go ahead and post it here, mmkay?

So all of the green beds are people who have been injected THRICE with the Pachamama Juice, and the yellow beds are people who have had TWO, ONE or zero ClotShots. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know how many of the yellow beds are purebloods – zero injections? And then of those, what their Vitamin D levels are?

I think we all have a good idea of what those figures actually are.

Please don’t share this aggressively because it would hurt the feewings of the mid-wit zombie cultists running the AdventHealth Group in Ocala, Flahrda.

The Book of Jude for Today: “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions”

Cross-post from Father David Nix, with permission. Read it with eyes wide open, with a bearing of preparedness.

The Book of Jude for Today

Jude is one of two books in the Bible that is so short that it is numbered not according to chapter and verse, but rather verse only.  It seems Jude is particularly applicable to today.  We’ll look at a few verses with St. Jude’s words in Scripture in italics and my commentary in bold:

Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.—Jude 3

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. So, if 1920s Catholicism looked like medieval Catholicism, then what do you think very early Catholicism looked like?  The answer is that Apostolic Christianity looked just like Patristic Catholicism which looked just like Medieval Catholicism.  This is why I keep saying that Traditional Catholicism is Apostolic Catholicism.  So, to contend for traditional Catholicism is to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.  Notice those words once for all mean that the Deposit of the Faith ended at the death of the last Apostle.  It is therefore an error to say the “Council Fathers of the 1960s” discovered something about early Christianity that the Desert Fathers did not know.  This would be nothing short of gnosticism (the heresy that a small group of special men has found a truth outside public revelation.)  The words in Scripture above, once for all, mean the deposit of the faith can not be changed by someone who hijacks the Chair of Peter (possibly twice the past seventy years) nor can early Christianity be considered “secret knowledge” that modern “Council Fathers” figured out but Medievals did not.  Rather, unlike the modernist gnostics, we traditional Catholics know that Divine Revelation went publicly from Christ to the Apostles to the Holy Fathers and Popes of infallible councils.  Hence, early Christianity “felt” very much just like Medieval Catholicism which “felt” very much like Catholicism, at least up up to the 1950s.  Anything outside of that is arrogant gnosticism that will not get your family to heaven.

For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.—Jude 4

Dr. Taylor Marshall’s book Infiltration was met with some deal of anger in the Catholic world at its release, but that anger soon dissipated when nobody could prove any of his footnotes wrong.  So also, I believe the current anger at his recent statements will be short-lived, as no one can honestly argue with his logic of the theory of non-contradiction when applied to Divine Revelation.  That is, two opposite assertions on dogma can not both be true.  Infiltration is summarized in a single verse from Jude 4, namely, that certain people have crept in unnoticed into the fold.  But we need not fear, for God knew this would happen and these ungodly people…were long ago designated for this condemnation.

But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.—Jude 17-23

If anyone accuses you of “schism,” remember the book of Jude here tells us that those who divert from Apostolic Catholicism are the ones who are scoffers…worldly people…who cause divisions.  The solution against a top-down apostasy in the Catholic Church is not to despair, but exactly as St. Jude wrote above:  Keep yourselves in the love of God.  (That is, keep yourself in sanctifying grace—living without mortal sin—or confessing within 24 hours if you fall into mortal sin.)  And while we are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ we can show mercy with fear as St. Jude writes above.  Yes, even as we are opposed by hierarchical gnostics, we can still save others by snatching them out of the fire if we keep our eyes on Christ and the classic Magisterium.

Hell Mice part 7: Before private labs set up shop to crank out fully human mice, it was the FDA who first got the party started, using your tax dollars

As I am pouring through dozens and dozens of research studies and fancy websites from labs selling humanized mice, one company kept popping up constantly as the contributor of the human parts to the mice models: Advanced Bioscience Resources.

Go try to research them. Good luck. They don’t even have a website. But I did find their address: 1514 Oak Street, Alameda CA, Suite 303.

Not what you expected? Me neither.

I dug a little deeper, and it turns out that not only does this outfit really supply all the human parts for all the human mice, but also it was your own FDA who got the party started. I’m not sure how I missed it, but this information was made public as the result of a March 2019 lawsuit by Judicial Watch. I’ll let them explain it:

FDA Bought Fetal Organs, Heads and Tissue for ‘Humanized Mice’ Project

Judicial Watch has uncovered more documents detailing the evil activities of your federal government – the trafficking of the remains of unborn human beings killed by abortion.

We received another 198 pages of records and communications from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) involving “humanized mice” research with human fetal heads, organs and tissue, including communications and contracts with human fetal tissue provider Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR).

Most of the records are communications and related attachments between Perrin Larton, a procurement manager for ABR, and research veterinary medical officer Dr. Kristina Howard of the FDA.

We received the records through a March 2019 FOIA lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, of which the FDA is a part (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department Health and Human Services (No. 1:19-cv-00876)).

After we successfully opposed the FDA’s redaction of certain information from its records, a federal court ordered HHS to release additional information about its purchases of organs harvested from aborted human fetuses – including “line item prices,” or the price per organ the government paid to ABR. The court also found “there is reason to question” whether the transactions violate federal law barring the sale of fetal organs. Documents previously uncovered in this lawsuit show that the federal government demanded the purchased fetal organs be “fresh and never frozen.”)

Scientists within the FDA and in the larger field of humanized mouse research have searched extensively over the past several years, and ABR is the only company in the U.S. capable of supplying tissues suitable for HM research. No other company or organization is capable of fulfilling the need.

***

Costs are estimated [for the fetal parts] at $230 per tissue x two tissues per shipment = $460 plus $95 shipping = $555 per shipment. A total of 21 shipments = $11,655.00.

An April 1, 2013, “Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract” form that shows the FDA purchased fetal livers and thymuses from ABR going back to at least October 2012, billing $580 per liver/thymus set, but later paying a unit price of $685.

A January 1, 2013, “Fees for Services Schedule” provided by ABR to the FDA includes:

FETAL CADAVEROUS PROCUREMENT                                         SERVICE FEE

2nd trimester D&E [Dilation and Evacuation abortion] (13-24 weeks)       per specimen     $275

1st trimester aspiration [abortion] (8-12 weeks)                              per specimen     $515

Intact Calvarium [baby’s skull] (8-24 weeks)”                                  per specimen     $515

The fees for services schedule also includes “Special Processing/Preservation” of the fetal parts, such as “Tissue ‘Cleaning,’” “Snap freezing,” and “Passive freezing (Dry ice).”

In a September 9, 2014, “Order for Supplies or Services,” the FDA writes regarding a $9,900 order:

The Contractors shall ship 2nd Trimester thymus $325, 2nd Trimester liver $325. Overnight deliver $150 and EFT wire transfer fee $25, for a total per delivery of $825. Total of this contract not to exceed $9,900.00.

As the result of an August 21, 2015, “Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract,” ABR bumped up the price of baby livers and thymuses from $325 each to $340 each.

A “Tissue Acquisition Quote” sent by ABR to Howard on July 5, 2017, provided a quote of $5,440 each to provide 16 sets of second trimester (16-24 weeks) livers and 16 sets of second trimester (16-24 weeks) thymuses at $340 per “sample.” The request for the quote notes that “tissue known to be positive for HIV, HepA, HepB, HepC or chromosomal abnormalities are not acceptable.”

On June 28, 2017, a redacted FDA contract specialist sends Larton at ABR a request for a quote (RFQ) of pricing for human fetal tissue, aged “16-24 weeks,” including a “Statement of Needs”:

The HM [humanized mice] are created by surgical implantations of human tissue into mice that have multiple genetic mutations that block the development of the mouse immune system at a very early stage. The absence of the mouse immune system allows the human tissues to grow and develop into functional human tissues…. In order for the humanization to proceed correctly we need to obtain fetal tissue with a specific set of specialized characteristics.
