You might want to think twice before trashing the Divine Mercy

Trad Hate for the Divine Mercy devotion is so cringe to me. Yes, I know all about the problematic parts of St. Faustina’s diary. Saints make mistakes, even to the point of sin. It happens. Sister Lucia made mistakes too. Also, it’s not her fault if the Divine Mercy has overtaken devotion to the Sacred Heart, and/or diminution of the Rosary. None of that should have happened. If you are a regular reader of this space, you know of my ardent devotion to the Sacred Heart, His Eucharistic Heart, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Most Holy Rosary. You can have all of these things, if you direct your will towards them, and act.

But the subject we are dealing with today is a fact, a revealed truth, not up for debate: Divine Mercy. You’re free to reject St. Faustina’s revelations completely and remain a good Catholic, as they are private revelation. You can even reject Fatima if you want, although I wouldn’t recommend it. But the Divine Mercy itself is not private revelation, it’s Scriptural. The administration of Divine Mercy is the very business of the Church. It’s what the Barque was built for. It’s why you’re aboard Her.

(Fans of Star Trek TOS will recognize that device)

I also think it’s totally appropriate for this feast to occur on the Octave Day of Easter. It doesn’t mean the Octave Day of Easter has been suppressed… that’s like claiming that calling it Low Sunday or Dominica in Albis or Quasimodo diminishes the Octave. Furthermore, the readings for today miraculously appear to be perfect selections to instruct us on the Divine Mercy, even though the old missal obviously pre-dates the institution of the feast. Have you ever noticed that? Yes, I said miraculous. God knows what he is doing.

EPISTLE I John 5:4-10. “Beloved: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory which overcameth the world: Our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ: not by water only but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit which testifieth that Christ is the truth. And there are Three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one. And there are three that give testimony on earth: the spirit and the water and the blood. And these three are one. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God, which is greater, because he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth in the Son of God hath the testimony of God in himself.”

How can you read that and not have the image of Divine Mercy come to mind?

Note that the Epistle and Gospel are both from St. John the Apostle.

GOSPEL John 20:19-31. “At that time, when it was late the same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them: “Peace be to you.” And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord. He said therefore to them again: “Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: “Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him: “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them: “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the place of the nails and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” And after eight days, again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said: “Peace be to you.” Then he said to Thomas: “Put in thy finger hither and see my hands. And bring hither the hand and put it into my side. And be not faithless, but believing.” Thomas answered and said to him: “My Lord and my God.” Jesus saith to him: “Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen and have believed.” Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: and that believing, you may have life in his name.”

So here we read, on Divine Mercy Sunday and the Octave Day of Easter, of the institution of the Sacrament of Confession. Is that not wholly appropriate? The preaching today inevitably focuses on St. Thomas, with the earlier portion of the Gospel ignored. Which is too bad, since the Sacrament of Confession is also largely ignored in the N.O. Church today, except for 3:00-3:15pm on Saturdays and by appointment only. A billion “Catholics” all over the world who think they don’t need Confession, who effectively reject it as a sacrament, wherefore rejecting the Divine Mercy. Woe to them. Christ’s offer of peace, cited twice in today’s Gospel, comes only through the Spirit, blood, and water of Divine Mercy, conferred by Grace.

Christ instructed Sister Faustina: “My daughter, tell the whole world about my inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls and especially for poor sinners. On that day, the very depths of my tender mercy are opened…the divine floodgates through which grace flows are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet…Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the font of my mercy.”

“even though its sins be as scarlet…” <raises hand>

Thanks be to God for His Divine Mercy.

Dr. Mazza explains Pope Benedict’s failed resignation in LifeSite interview… now with timestamps

On today’s episode of The John-Henry Westen Show, I ask Dr. Edmund Mazza, a professor of Church history, to unpack the controversy and confusion surrounding the 2013 resignation of Pope Benedict XVI and address the potential implications for Francis’s papacy if the resignation were invalid….”

“This is a dense episode — Dr. Mazza dives deep into the subject with remarkable aplomb — but it’s a fascinating one you won’t want to miss. Here’s a taste of what you’ll be getting:”

Dr. Mazza: “Well, believe it or not, Canon Law, Canon 188, says that when someone in the Church resigns from their office, one of the things that would invalidate that resignation is something called substantial error. It’s when your intellect has an erroneous idea of the object that you were choosing, that your will is choosing. Well, if your intellect presents an erroneous object to your will and your will chooses it, your will is not free […] If Benedict thought he could resign the active ministry of the papacy, but somehow still remain papal [in the passive sense, not in the active sense], and was able to offer up his sufferings and prayers in an ontological connection to the munus [ministry or service] that belongs to St. Peter…”

Zelensky announces Clueless Blinkin and Pronoun Austin visiting Ukraine tomorrow

Stay confessed, folks. Putin has shown incredible patience, and I’m not sure how much he has left.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday he plans to welcome two members of President Joe Biden’s cabinet to Kyiv Sunday.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin marks the highest level meeting between the two nations since the war began.

Infographic: Philly health commish takes victory lap as she splains the skience behind the four day mask miracle

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia has lifted its indoor mask mandate, city health officials said Friday, abruptly reversing course just days after people in the city had to start wearing masks again…

The Board of Health voted Thursday to rescind the mandate, according to the health department, which released a statement that cited “decreasing hospitalizations and a leveling of case counts.”

“We have said throughout the pandemic that we will respond based on the data available. In implementing our mask mandate, we had promised to continue to monitor hospitalizations and to review the need for the mandate if hospitalizations did not rise following the rise in cases,” Dr. Cheryl Bettigole, Philadelphia’s Health Commissioner, said in a statement Friday morning.

She added, “We are grateful to see that Philadelphians once again stepped up, responding to this pandemic with solidarity and care for each other. And that response and the data demonstrating its effectiveness makes it possible for us to announce today that we are rolling back Philadelphia’s mask mandate…”

Bettigole told the Board of Health at a public meeting Thursday night that hospitalizations had unexpectedly gone down 25% in a matter of days.

“We’re in a situation that we really had not anticipated being in this soon but it is good news,” she said, according to a transcript of the meeting. “So I’m really very happy…”

Now let’s have a look at the city’s own website tracking hospitalizations:

Those last four weeks are 8, 18, 8, and 7 total people in the hospital in the entire city. The decision to issue the mask mandate came the week it went from 18 to 8. Now that it has gone from 8 to 7, the masks worked and we don’t need them any more. Yay us.

Never forget, the power trip is seriously enhanced by the visibility and the getting away with it.

Easter Thursday: Mary and the “Gardener”

GOSPEL John 20:11-18. At that time, Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping. Now as she was weeping, she stooped down and looked into the sepulchre, And she saw two angels in white, sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been laid. They say to her: “Woman, why weepest thou?” She saith to them: “Because they have taken away my Lord: and I know not where they have laid him.”
When she had thus said, she turned herself back and saw Jesus standing: and she knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith to her: “Woman, why weepest thou? Whom seekest thou?” She, thinking that it was the gardener, saith to him: “Sir, if thou hast taken him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him: and I will take him away.” Jesus saith to her: “Mary.” She turning, saith to him: “Rabboni” (which is to say, Master). Jesus saith to her: “Do not touch me: for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and say to them: I ascend to my Father and to your Father, to my God and to your God.” Mary Magdalen cometh and telleth the disciples: “I have seen the Lord; and these things he said to me.”

Christ is Risen! Happy Easter! There are so many lessons here. Miss B. took a really good run at it:

Happy Easter! The Profound Significance of Jesus In A Spiffy Hat

Noli Me Tangere, Lavinia Fontana, ARSH 1581
Noli Me Tangere, Lavinia Fontana, ARSH 1581

The beautiful painting above is of Mary Magdalene seeing Our Resurrected Lord in the garden close to the Empty Tomb and initially mistaking Him for the gardener.  In art Our Lord is commonly depicted in this specific scene as a gardener by his spiffy gardener’s hat – and only sometimes carrying a gardening implement, as in this image.  As a great fan, connoisseur and wearer of hats, I am always tickled to see Our Lord behatted.

But there is massive meaning in all of this, and it goes back to the Garden of Eden, and teaches us about the Eucharist, and specifically about the importance of worthy and unworthy reception of the Eucharist.  This is especially germane as one of the hallmarks of the Bergoglian antipapacy is the pogrom of sacrilegious desecration of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Anyone who objects to the enthusiastic desecration of the Eucharist will, of course, be denounced as a “fundamentalist” or “rigid” or whatever is today’s entry in the Antipope Bergoglio book of insults.

Our Lord appeared as a Gardener to Mary Magdalene because He is, in fact, The Gardener of Eden (Genesis 2: 8-9) and would walk in The Garden (Genesis 3: 8).

Interestingly, we see from Genesis that it was His intention to commune with mankind AS FOOD from the very beginning, whether man fell to original sin or not.  The Tree of Life wasn’t a mere foreshadowing of the Eucharist, it was in fact a species of the Real Substantial Presence of God, in the form of food, to be eaten by man in order to give man eternal life.  Again, the Fruit of the Tree of Life was an actual species of the Real Presence, not a symbol.  So Christ was not only The Gardener of Eden, He Himself was also the “Crop”.

Now think about this – when Adam and Eve fell, what did God do? He drove them out and even sent an angel with a flaming, rotating sword to specifically physically block them so that they could not COMMIT THE SIN OF SACRILEGE OF EATING OF THE FRUIT OF THE TREE OF LIFE, THAT IS THE PHYSICAL SUBSTANCE OF GOD HIMSELF, AND THUS MAKE THEIR SITUATION EVEN WORSE.  It wasn’t enough to merely tell them that they couldn’t eat of the Tree of Life (a species of the Real Presence) because Our Lord knew that satan would tempt them to eat it anyway, and they would, because they were now guilty of the sin of pride.

Our Lord drove Adam and Eve out of The Garden and posted an angelic sentry BECAUSE HE LOVED THEM. Our Loving God EXCOMMUNICATED Adam and Eve in order to protect them from themselves, knowing that they would do even further damage to themselves by eating of His Physical Substance unworthily.

Only after Our Lord had incarnated, and True God and True Man had suffered and died for the sins of the world, could mankind once again be able to eat of the Fruit of the Tree of Life.  The Cross is The Tree.  Jesus Christ hanging from it is The Fruit of The Tree of Life. The Eucharist is the Flesh and Blood of Jesus Christ, True Food and True Drink. Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection re-established The Garden of Eden, ended the protective banishment, and lifted the excommunication of mankind.

This is why Our Lord said to the Apostles in the Upper Room on Holy Thursday, “With desire I have desired to eat this pasch with you…”

When God says, “I’ve REALLY been looking forward to this…”, something incomprehensibly good and profoundly important is about to happen.

And this is why, in these days, growing ever darker, that satan, through his infiltators in The Church – some of them consciously willing, some of them merely stupid, are pushing for what the serpent could NOT effect in The Garden: the sacrilegious desecration of the Fruit of the Tree of Life.

It is true.  There are no angels with flaming swords to prevent unrepentant sinners from receiving the Eucharist.  Would that there were.  I would be very happy if I were blocked from receiving the Eucharist by an angel, because then I would absolutely know that I was not in a state of grace, and could take steps to correct that in the confessional. It is always a nagging concern in the back of one’s mind every time one receives the Eucharist.  Or, at least it should be.

But, considering the steps that God took in The Garden of Eden, one should think very long and very hard about the gravity of unworthy reception, and of the truly satanic malignancy of this final push to get those in openly unrepentant mortal sin to desecrate the Eucharist, and for the priests, who have been the last line of defense, standing in place of the angel, instead to be the willing facilitators and encouragers of sacrilegious desecration of Our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist.

And this is why Our Risen Lord appeared to Mary Magdalene as a Gardener, as we can tell by the spiffy hat.

I hope this helps.

Mr. Popularity: Biden DOJ files appeal to overturn judge’s order that voided federal mask mandate

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is filing an appeal seeking to overturn a judge’s order that voided the federal mask mandate on planes and trains and in travel hubs, officials said Wednesday.

The notice came minutes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asked the Justice Department to appeal the decision handed down by a federal judge in Florida earlier this week.

A notice of appeal was filed in federal court in Tampa.

The CDC said in a statement Wednesday that it is its “continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health.”

A federal judge in Florida had struck down the national mask mandate for mass transit on Monday, leading airlines and airports to swiftly repeal their requirements that passengers wear face coverings. The Transportation Security Administration said Monday that it would it will no longer enforce the mask requirement…

Ukrainian Nazis and the Collective West Partner on the Path to Nuclear War

Susan Matthiesen is in blowtorch mode… full link below

Zelensky was just quoted as saying, “Don’t fear nuclear war. Just be ready for it.” In this article I will henceforth call Zelensky, “Elensky” since the letter “Z” has been deemed illegal in Ukraine. I will do this since I don’t want the Ukrainian Nazi Azov troops to ask the FBI to disappear me – not that I’m important enough to have anyone do that, but like Elensky said, I need to “be ready for it”.

By now the world should see that after WWII the bacilli of Nazism wafted eastward in the air and settled in the west of Ukraine, embedding itself in the Ukrainian Azov troops who use the Swastika as their insignia while they brutalize eastern Ukrainian Russian civilians with rape, torture or just shooting them on sight. What with all the hoopla about the Capitol “rioters” being evil Nazi type right-wingers one would think that the Left would be able to recognize real Nazis, but apparently not. The Left, that is, the Collective West (USA, EU and Australia) who hates itself and its former Christian civilization, loves Nazism. One can see true love blooming in the Collective West’s falling all over itself with little red meme hearts flowing from the breasts of Western leaders calling for nuclear WWIII.

Let me interrupt at this moment to post Elensky’s recent video of himself high on drugs. Couldn’t find this particular video on YouTube since it was definitely censored so people wouldn’t see the acid-head druggie comedian in high heels Puppet that the Western Puppet Masters placed to lead the West into their wanted nuclear war. Click on the link below to see the 32 second video that Elensky’s handlers tried to erase from being seen.

https://t.me/inessas100/1163

Did you see it? Do we need to go to war for Elensky? For this man? Are YOU, cheering for this man “dripping with narcissistic madness, pride, unhinged ego, corruption and monumental incompetence” and his Nazi goons? Have you been taking to heart as the truth everything that the Western Media is saying even after being fooled for two years by the Covid “coof”. Did you not recognize that the MSM, after terrorizing the world for two years with the coof, in one day dropped that narrative and the next day picked up the narrative of how wonderful Nazis are and that we must plan WWIII to solve the problem of Ukraine…

And here I must interject the reason Globalists Elites choose death over life even though it should be obvious to even the most naïve person on the planet. What with all the millions of people murdered by the Left’s Marxist agenda of wars, abortion, euthanasia, transgender and homosexual-lesbian agendas for eradication of the population, and all the Green agenda garbage, etc., a nuclear war would help eradicate millions of humans from the face of the earth. Death, death and more death. The more people killed, the better for the Elites because it’s easier to control less people than more…

What would Saint Augustine do? Tune in to Dr. Mazza this Sunday to find out!

HURRY!

Mercy Sunday, St. Augustine, Societal Collapse!

Think of it as “prepping.” First, Augustine had to get himself squared away, and that didn’t happen overnight. Once his hard conversion took hold, he then had to deal with Pelagians, Manichaens, Donatists, and Arians. And that was nothing compared to fighting the Goths and Vandals, as society was collapsing around him! And so it would seem quite prudent to sign up for Dr. Mazza’s new mini-course:

NEW MINI-COURSE starts this Sunday! April 24th!
