How is this concept remotely difficult? Do we recall the Baltimore Catechism answer to the question of Why God Made You? God made you to know, love, and serve Him in this world, so that you might be happy with Him forever in the next. This is done by examining evidence with the rational intellect, cooperating with grace, and assent of the will.
I’m sure everyone has seen the Father Altman video by now. I’m sure you’ve also seen the “Trad Inc Frank is Definitely Pope Shut Up Stoopid” crowd screeching HOW DARE HE — HE HAS NO AUTHORITY TO SAY SUCH THINGS.
Excuse me? He was born for this. We all were born for this. The fact that you were born into this age of the Church should immediately predispose you to engaging the evidence, the ginormous proof set of the current antipapacy and the antichurch in ascendance, conforming your intellect to reality through free will, and then taking action. “Act, and God will act” as put succinctly by St. Joan of Arc. If you have arrived at moral certainty – look up what that means – that Bergoglio is not and never was a true pope, six ways to Sunday, yet you’ve resolved to do nothing, say nothing, write nothing… you might want to think twice about that. As for authority, be it known that the greater ecclesiastical authority one might possess, the greater the gravity of one’s silence.
I am very cautious with celebrity priests, and Fr. Altman has always been a little over the top to me. But everything he said in that latest video is true, and he not only has a right to say it, he has a solemn duty to do so.
I’m again reminded of the Star Trek episode where Lenore confronts Kirk with, “Who do you think you are?” and Kirk responds, “Who do I have to be?”
Today is September 8th, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.
Sometimes you just have to laugh when God so clearly presents you with your task for the day. Remember, He planned for you to be alive in this world at this very moment; you were born for this, and His expectations are not a null set. Incredibly, my task today is to explain ancient Jewish marriage rituals. As it happens, there are Jews in my family, so I have first hand knowledge of how this works. The traditional rituals are virtually the same today as they were at the time of Christ.
But first, may I just say, you really need to get to know your Mother, the glorious and immaculate Virgin. The more love you have for her in your heart, the more room in your heart for Christ, and the more willing He is to dwell there. In the first hour of her birth, Mary bore more glory than all the Old Testament saints, and in that same hour, had already attained more sanctity than all the New Testament saints while they yet lived.
Your greatest confidence is to be entrusted to your Mother, who gave us the wedding at Cana as the first glimpse of her under the title Virgin Most Powerful. Gospel of John, chapter two. Wine runs out, Mary asks Jesus to help, Jesus says no, Mary doesn’t take no for an answer. Nope. GOD INCARNATE OVERRULED BY MOM. Not only does Jesus give in to Mary’s request, not only does He make more wine, really good wine, like the best wine evah, He makes 150 GALLONS OF WINE. Oh how the prots must hate John 2.
Now of course, Mary knew perfectly well that her request was aligned with Christ’s divine will, and that He would carry it out accordingly. God, being perfect, cannot act against His own will, and a creature cannot order God around. But here we have Christ as a model of the Fourth Commandment, even as he is yet God. This same dynamic plays out today, inside the Beatific Vision. Let’s just say the Holy Mother of God is… influential. He listens to her, and she wants to obtain and deliver great graces for you.
Folks, pray the Rosary every day.
So here is the deal with Mary’s marriage to Joseph. In the Jewish tradition, there are three steps to the marriage ritual. These days, all three steps happen on the same day. But in ancient times, there could be long periods of time between the steps, especially the last two steps (up to a year). But the key point is this: The spouses are really married, lawfully married, at the very first step. This is the signing of the Ketubah, the marriage contract, which is countersigned by the parents.
The next step is espousal/betrothal in the Kiddushin, followed by the final step of Nissuin. Traditionally, these could take place up to a year apart, during which time the couple do not yet live together. This was the case for Mary and Joseph. Today the two rites take place minutes apart in the same ceremony, with the couple standing together with their parents under the huppah.
But what does the bible say?
Part of the confusion comes from our encounter with the Annunciation, which appears only in Luke. After explaining the miraculous conception of the Forerunner, Luke lays out the Annunciation and the Visitation, followed by the Nativity of St. John. The only term used in the first chapter of Luke is “espoused/betrothed,” which people misconstrue into thinking they were only “engaged.”
However, if you turn to chapter two and the birth of Jesus, you will see in Luke 2:4-5:
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child.
WIFE. That is why Joseph, before he was visited by the angel, had decided to quietly divorce Mary (under the old law). You don’t divorce someone you’re not married to.
But the bigger clincher is from Matthew:
And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations. Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately. But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost. Matt 1:16-20
“JOSEPH HER HUSBAND”
So there you go. Please feel free to use this as the need arises. Happy Feast!
The Pfizer story is the second headline, but first up, Megyn Kelly’s deathjab injury confirmed by her doctor: (everything that follows is from Childers)
Former Fox News host and journalist Megyn Kelly, 52, appeared in an interview clip making the rounds yesterday. In the clip, Megyn disclosed a tragic new vaccine injury diagnosis, and admits she regrets taking the shots. Video at the link.
Megyn explained her new autoimmune injury was confirmed by her doctor:
“I regret getting the vaccine…because I don’t think I would’ve needed it… And then, for the first time, I tested positive for an autoimmune issue at my annual physical. And I went to the best Rheumatologist in New York, and I asked her, do you think this could have to do with the fact that got the damn booster and then got COVID within three weeks?”
And she said yes. Yes! I wasn’t the only one she’d seen that with.”
For additional context, Megyn’s older sister died eleven months ago after her heart suddenly and unexpectedly attacked her.
…
The newly-disclosed contract between Pfizer and the Republic of South Africa is dated March 30th, 2021 — four months after the jab rollout started in America. Both the South African government and Pfizer hysterically opposed releasing the contract. A heroic South African citizens group spent over a year and who knows how much money forcing its release; meanwhile the government and Pfizer used TAXPAYER money to slow it down and try to stop it.
Spoiler: only someone in John Fetterman’s condition would have signed this contract.
The agreement defines “Purchaser” as the government of the Republic of South Africa. Under Section 5.5 (“Purchaser Acknowledgement”), clearly spelled out in black and white, Pfizer admitted it had no idea what the jabs might do or might not do in the long run, or whether they would even work at all, shifting all the risk completely to the South African government.
In Section 5.5’s first sentence, Pfizer admitted it hadn’t even yet finished studying the vaccines’ “components and constituent materials.” Think about that. Turn that around in your mind and pitilessly examine it from every angle. Compare that admission to all the public messaging from the CDC and all its white-coated, grant-grabbing pretend doctors.
In English, Pfizer was saying, look, we’re not even sure what’s in these things.
And South Africa said, sure, that’s cool with us.
Not to belabor the point but, while in its confidential legal agreements Pfizer was saying they weren’t even sure what the shots included, what we were being publicly assured was that the shots were the most studied vaccines in history, not to mention the safest and most effective ones — ever. Ever, ever. Ninety-five percent effective. You remember.
Section 5.5’s second sentence is arguably even worse. It included two different disclaimers. The first disclaimer expressly says that South Africa AGREED that “the long-term effects and efficacy of the Vaccine are not currently known.”
“Not currently known.” In other words, Pfizer said we have no idea what it’s going to do to people, or whether it even works.
Haha! There it is, in black and white, three months after first responders and healthcare workers in the U.S. had all gotten the jabs and just before the “vaccinate or terminate” mandates started rolling out. Do you remember our vaunted public officials saying anything about unknown long-term effects? Did President Robert L. Peters ever say “the long-term effects and efficacy” were unknown? Did anyone in charge ever say that?
I was texting with a dear friend recently (who, coincidentally took me to my first TLM so very many years ago); he sent me a few papers on the ineffectiveness of masks, which we all know but it’s still nice to see it in print. The idea occurred to me to link them here for any readers who are fellow healthcare workers. I’m posting these links so that you can print them out, leave them in your staff lounge or forward them on to colleagues, and I’ve added some links from a few other sources
Etc, etc etc. I could post for days with articles dating back prior to the flu pandemic of 1918. We have known for over a century that MASKS DO NOT WORK TO STOP THE SPREAD OF AEROSOLIZED VIRUSES. The reader should also note that many of the above studies are looking at BACTERIAL infections that develop despite diligent masking in the operating room. It is a scientific fact that viruses are smaller than bacteria by orders of magnitude. Therefore, if a mask can’t stop a bacterial infection, it surely will not stop the transmission of teeny tiny aerosolized viral particles.
It should be readily apparent to everyone that the use of masks during the SCAMdemic had nothing to do with stopping the spread. Instead, this was a very sophisticated psychological operation to dehumanize us, turn us against one another, and strike fear in everyone so they would readily accept the Kill Shot.
If you know any Masked Covidians, charitably send them these links. Encourage them to follow ACTUAL SCIENCE, not POLITICAL SCIENCE!
If you’ve been reading any news about wildfires this summer—from Canada to Europe to Maui—you will surely get the impression that they are mostly the result of climate change.
Here’s the AP: Climate change keeps making wildfires and smoke worse. Scientists call it the “new abnormal.”
And PBS NewsHour: Wildfires driven by climate change are on the rise—Spain must do more to prepare, experts say.
And The New York Times: How Climate Change Turned Lush Hawaii Into a Tinderbox.
And Bloomberg: Maui Fires Show Climate Change’s Ugly Reach.
I am a climate scientist. And while climate change is an important factor affecting wildfires over many parts of the world, it isn’t close to the only factor that deserves our sole focus.
So why does the press focus so intently on climate change as the root cause? Perhaps for the same reasons I just did in an academic paper about wildfires in Nature, one of the world’s most prestigious journals: it fits a simple storyline that rewards the person telling it.
The paper I just published—“Climate warming increases extreme daily wildfire growth risk in California”—focuses exclusively on how climate change has affected extreme wildfire behavior. I knew not to try to quantify key aspects other than climate change in my research because it would dilute the story that prestigious journals like Nature and its rival, Science, want to tell.
This matters because it is critically important for scientists to be published in high-profile journals; in many ways, they are the gatekeepers for career success in academia. And the editors of these journals have made it abundantly clear, both by what they publish and what they reject, that they want climate papers that support certain pre-approved narratives—even when those narratives come at the expense of broader knowledge for society.
To put it bluntly, climate science has become less about understanding the complexities of the world and more about serving as a kind of Cassandra, urgently warning the public about the dangers of climate change. However understandable this instinct may be, it distorts a great deal of climate science research, misinforms the public, and most importantly, makes practical solutions more difficult to achieve.
Why is this happening?
It starts with the fact that a researcher’s career depends on his or her work being cited widely and perceived as important. This triggers the self-reinforcing feedback loops of name recognition, funding, quality applications from aspiring PhD students and postdocs, and of course, accolades…
1600 scientists, doctors, and engineers helpfully explain that the last “little ice age” ended only in 1850, so of course temp trends tend to be a little higher. Also, models only model what the model makers put into the models. Never forget that. Lastly, CO2 is not a “pollutant” … it’s plant food. This is something earlier generations learned in grade four.
A fantastic compendium of quotes, shamelessly copied and pasted from Miss B.
Li’l Joey Tailor (Giuseppe Sarto) grew up to be Pope St. Pius X, Our Father in God. Today is his feast day.
“The greatest obstacle in the apostolate of the Church is the timidity, or rather the cowardice of the faithful.”
…the great movement of apostasy being organized in every country for the establishment of a One-World Church which shall have neither dogmas, nor hierarchy, neither discipline for the mind, nor curb for the passions, and which, under the pretext of freedom and human dignity, would bring back to the world (if such a Church could overcome) the reign of legalized cunning and force, and the oppression of the weak, and of all those who toil and suffer. […] Indeed, the true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries, nor innovators: they are traditionalists.
It is an error to believe that Christ did not teach a determined body of doctrine applicable to all times and to all men, but rather that He inaugurated a religious movement adapted, or to be adapted, to different times and different places.
If there were one million families praying the Rosary every day, the entire world would be saved.
If the Angels could envy, they would envy us for Holy Communion.
The daily adoration or visit to the Blessed Sacrament is the practice which is the fountainhead of all devotional works.
The Church alone, being the Bride of Christ and having all things in common with her Divine Spouse, is the depository of the truth.
I accept with sincere belief the doctrine of faith as handed down to us from the Apostles by the orthodox Fathers, always in the same sense and with the same interpretation.
The proposition that the principal articles of the Apostles’ Creed did not have the same meaning for the Christians of the earliest times as they have for Christians of our time is hereby condemned and proscribed as erroneous.
It is impossible to approve in Catholic publications of a style inspired by unsound novelty which seems to deride the piety of the faithful and dwells on the introduction of a new order [novus ordo] of Christian life, on new directions of the Church, on new aspirations of the modern soul, on a new vocation of the clergy, on a new Christian civilisation.
Pope St. Pius X, pray for us, for the Holy Catholic Church, usurped by an Antipope and in terrifyingly visible eclipse, and for the Petrine See which you so gloriously occupied, vacant these 246 days.
