Another Trad in sudden need, please help if you can

I’ve been asked to spread this fundraiser for a Trad in need:

DONATE HERE

Andrew Rivera is a widower and single dad of a delightful four-year-old boy. Andrew’s wife passed away just before their little boy was two years old. Since then, Andrew has been raising his son alone with the help, during the week, of his mother. She comes every Sunday night from out of town so that Andrew can work and so that his son can be cared for and taken to and picked up from junior kindergarten at the local Catholic school.

Just after Easter, Andrew had a serious medical situation at home and was rushed to the hospital where he remains in intensive care (April 18, 2023). Andrew’s recovery is going to be long. It may be a year, we still don’t know. In the meantime, the family is in a crisis. Andrew has a mortgage and will have ongoing medical expenses. Private insurance support is virtually non-existent. It is a devasting situation for the family and for those of us who are his friends. His parents are in their 70’s.

If you are in the greater Toronto area and attend the Traditional Latin Mass, you will know or may have at least seen Andrew. He has often been a Master of Ceremonies and has assisted in the training of many to serve the Traditional Latin Catholic Mass at both diocesan churches and the Society of St. Pius X. Andrew is a good man, a good father, and a kind and humble fellow to all who know him. Whether you know Andrew personally or have just come across this on social media or through a blog, he is now in need of your help and we are reaching out to you on his behalf.

My name is David Anthony Domet and I’ve known Andrew for about fifteen years. I am working with another friend and his mother and father on this project. This effort has been approved by Andrew’s mother. I am responsible for this fundraiser and all funds will be turned over to his mother and father for the sole purpose of supporting Andrew and his son financially at this most difficult time. His recovery is going to be long and arduous, it is unclear at this time, how long. The financial future is uncertain until he is able to function and be self-supportive for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we are reaching out to you in your charity for help. We have set an ambitious target of $50,000.00. We need to provide enough support for at least one year. May God bless you for your kindness.

UPDATE: SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2023, 10:30 A.M. EDT

Andrew is now out of intensive care as of yesterday, April 21, since being admitted on April 11. He is recovering from the initial crisis but has a long road ahead. There is no determination yet as to when his hospital stay will end, nor when he can return to work. On the matter of work, the company is small and has no health care benefits or insurance. Andrew’s son has not seen him since the collapse at home, but he will have a chance to see him today on a computer video call.

Your donations are greatly appreciated as are your prayers. Equally important is sharing this on your social media and via email.

Gov Newsom calls in National Guard to San Francisco, Dirty Harry not available for comment

Written by Joe Burn Apr. 21, 2023 • 4:32pm

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Friday that San Francisco police and District Attorney Brooke Jenkins have been told to tap California Highway Patrol and National Guard resources to battle the city’s drug crisis…

The announcement directs the four agencies to figure out a path to work together to better deal with San Francisco’s open-air drug dealing scene in the Tenderloin neighborhood and other areas of the city. The National Guard will identify specialist personnel and resources to support the analysis of drug trafficking operations, with a particular focus on disrupting and dismantling fentanyl trafficking rings.

“The CalGuard is seeing significant success supporting multiagency task forces interdicting fentanyl across our state,” said Major Gen. Matthew P. Beevers of the California National Guard. “We expect to achieve the same success working with our partners in San Francisco.”

“THE CAVALRY IS COMING!” tweeted SF Supervisor Matt Dorsey, a former police communications executive, in reaction to Newsom’s Friday announcement…

Illegal aliens who are LGBTQXYZ ‘may not be detained’ under Democrats’ new rule

By Peter Kasperowicz | Fox News

Dozens of Democrats in the House and Senate introduced legislation this week that would make it harder to hold illegal aliens in custody if they qualify as a “vulnerable person,” such as those who are gay, lesbian or transgender, who don’t speak English, or who meet other definitions of the term under the bill.

The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, from Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., is aimed at setting minimum standards for detention facilities where thousands of illegal aliens are kept as they await processing…”Our immigration system has allowed for the unjust treatment of immigrants and stripped them of their humanity and due process,” Booker said in a Thursday statement. “We must respect and protect the basic rights of immigrants detained in the United States.”

The bill sets out new rules on detention that favor aliens. For example, officials would have to decide within 48 hours whether to detain an alien, and could only detain them after a determination that “the release of an alien will not reasonably ensure the appearance of the alien as required or will endanger the safety” of others. In those cases, DHS “shall impose the least restrictive conditions” for detention, and ensure they get a custody hearing within 72 hours. And in those hearings, “there shall be a presumption that the alien should be released,” the bill said.

But the bill goes further by seeking to exempt several groups of illegal aliens from any detention at all. It creates a “special rule for vulnerable persons and primary caregivers,” and says these aliens “may not be detained…”  Under the bill, “vulnerable person” is defined as anyone who is under 21 or older than 60, pregnant, or who “identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex…” Aliens with a credible fear of persecution, “limited English language proficiency,” those experiencing “severe trauma,” and survivors of “torture or gender-based violence” also meet the definition of a “vulnerable person” for which DHS must take extra steps before detaining…

“Today, our beautiful Ukrainian sky becomes more secure because Patriot air defense systems have arrived”

Something about the 30th anniversary of Waco coinciding with our Patriot missiles arriving in Ukraine… I can’t quite put my finger on it. Something about the FBI and ATF of having a long track record of destroying people whose guns and religion they don’t like, working in tandem with a Deep State who sends weapons to thug governments all over the world with your tax dollars. Kinda feels dirty.

“Patriots” for patriots
Do you know how to visualize a dream? We must tell about it to the world and give it life! This is exactly what happened with the Patriots, even before the large-scale war, even before my appointment to the most important position of my life at the most important time of my life. This is exactly what happened during my visit to the United States in August 2021, while I was serving as the DPM on the Re-Integration of the Temporary Occupied Territories. That’s when I first told our partners, “We need the Patriots.” Our country’s liberty and independence are under threat. And what did we hear? It’s impossible! But the impossible is possible. Today, our beautiful Ukrainian sky becomes more secure because Patriot air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine. Our air defenders have mastered them as fast as they could. And our partners have kept their word. 🇺🇦🤝🇺🇲🇩🇪🇳🇱 This is the result of hard work led by our President

Thank you to my colleagues

Breaking: FDA bans original covid “vaccines”… mouse juice now the only jab available

“Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration amended the emergency use authorizations (EUAs) of the Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 bivalent mRNA vaccines to simplify the vaccination schedule for most individuals. This action includes authorizing the current bivalent vaccines (original and omicron BA.4/BA.5 strains) to be used for all doses administered to individuals 6 months of age and older, including for an additional dose or doses for certain populations. The monovalent Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the United States…”

What about the 200 million people who voluntarily took these once-miraculous, now-banned substances?

In case you’ve lost count, the bivalent “vaccine” is the one introduced last September. All the true believers who got their fourth or fifth shot – that was the bivalent, which was never tested on humans before being rolled out. It was tested on five mice, and they all died.

Thanks to Nurse Claire for the heads-up.

SSRI Nation: You’ll never guess who developed the patient questionnaire to get Pfizer’s drugs prescribed

PFIZER-FUNDED, DECADES-OLD MENTAL HEALTH CHECKLIST FUELED SSRIS

By Tracy Beanz & Michelle Edwards

For Americans not yet convinced of Pfizer’s intentionally sinister role in the declining physical and mental health of our nation, the billion-dollar company’s behind-the-scenes funding of the test widely used for depression is another decisive example. Specifically, while searching in the late 1990s for ways to encourage primary care doctors to prescribe its newly-released antidepressant Zoloft (sertraline)—instead of presenting peer-reviewed scientific research—Pfizer teamed up with a marketing whiz named Howard Kroplick, who devised a simple checklist that created a sense of certainty and accuracy around a mental illness diagnosis.

That’s right, in addition to the current revelations coming forward of Pfizer’s enormous collusion with the federal government around its failed experimental COVID-19 injection, along with its $2.3 billion settlement in 2009 with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for fraudulent marketing—the largest healthcare fraud settlement in DOJ history—Pfizer plotted a “quick and dirty tool” to diagnose mental illness, which significantly broadened its base of probable Zoloft prescribers. Intended to make treating mental illness effortlessly routine for primary care doctors, the test, called PHQ-9 and introduced in the early 2000s, is still being used today.

In a recent interview with STAT, Kroplick—who boasted that he urged Pfizer to avoid using the word “impotence” when promoting its drug Viagra—shared for the first time how, more than two decades ago, he came up with the idea to capitalize on the vast untouched market that existed within the walls of primary care offices, many of which were uncomfortable treating mental illness, and rightly so. He pitched the questionnaire consisting of nine superficial questions to both scientific creators and executives at Pfizer, who, as previously noted, funded Kroplick’s work. Proudly remarking, “it wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for me,” Kroplick explained that once implemented, the grossly unscientific tool “took on a life of its own,” becoming “omnipresent.” Alarmingly, PHQ-9 has been cited in more than 11,000 scientific papers.

To this day, despite several experts stating the form was never meant to be a diagnostic test to diagnose mental illness, the “go-to” checklist is routinely and effortlessly handed out to patients during primary care check-ups and OB-GYN visits—regardless of whether a patient has voiced mental health concerns. The nine questions touch on a range of issues that sets the threshold for anxiety and depression “far too low,” according to UK-based psychotherapist James Davies, co-founder of the Council for Evidence-based Psychiatry.

In 2017, a concerned Davies remarked that the form, which should only be used as a conversation starter between doctor and patient, if at all, resulted in patients being wrongly diagnosed and medicated. For example, patients whose symptoms may stem from unusually stressful or traumatic episodes in their lives end up being labeled as clinically depressed or anxious. With U.S.-based multinational Pfizer manufacturing most of the commonly prescribed SSRI drugs for anxiety and depression in the UK, Davies told the Telegraph:

GPs are very busy, and they often don’t have time to do a full interview. It’s about getting people in and out of the door in 10 minutes. These forms have a very low criteria for anxiety and depression.

Millions of people have filled them in and got medication, but did they know they were developed by Pfizer?”

“Rapid-onset Gender Dysphoria”

Cohort and contagion effects from novel social pressures

By Dr. Robert Malone
In 2018, Psychology Today published an article summarizing trans research and what was happening in the culture that is truly shocking. That is, a large minority of kids have developed a belief system whereby they, as a group, espouse that being a normal biological female or male is akin to being immoral and evil. This bizarre concept has spread across social media and has infiltrated even down to elementary schools. This is a set of cultural beliefs which have morphed from groupthink and rebellion on social media to going viral throughout an age cohort which is vulnerable to new concepts being permanently instilled into their mindsets.

Why Is Transgender Identity on the Rise Among Teens?

A new study of social contagion raises important clinical and ethical questions.

Psychology Today, 2018

“In general, cis-gendered people are considered evil and unsupportive, regardless of their actual views on the topic. To be heterosexual, comfortable with the gender you were assigned at birth, and non-minority places you in the ‘most evil’ of categories with this group of friends. Statement of opinions by the evil cis-gendered population are consider phobic and discriminatory and are generally discounted as unenlightened.”

Parents further reported being derogatorily called “breeders” by their children, or being routinely harassed by children who played “pronoun-police.” The observation that they no longer recognized their child’s voice came up time and again in parental reports. In turn, the eerie similarity between the youth’s discourse and trans-positive online content was repeatedly emphasized. Youth were described as “sounding scripted,” “reading from a script,” “wooden,” “like a form letter,” “verbatim,” “word for word,” or “practically copy and paste.”

Littman raises cautions about encouraging young people’s desire to transition in all instances. From the cases reviewed in her study, she concluded that what she terms rapid-onset gender dysphoria” (ROGD) appears to be a novel condition that emerges from cohort and contagion effects and novel social pressures. From this perspective, ROGD likely exhibits an aetiology and epidemiology that is distinct from the “classical” cases of gender dysphoria documented in the DSM.

Littman hypothesizes that ROGD can be cast as a maladaptive coping mechanism for other underlying mental health issues such as trauma or social maladjustment, but also for other exceptional traits like high IQ and giftedness. The peer support, prestige, and identity leveraged by the youth who proudly come out as trans certainly appears to be protective in their circles. As Littman’s study shows, this social signaling strategy also comes with strong disadvantages, particularly as it increases conflict between trans youth and the “cis” majority of the population, which, tellingly, includes a majority of the LGBT community…

The Consequences of Transing the Brand

(stay with this… watch the videos… the last two paragraphs will answer many questions regarding the state of play. -nvp)

By Matt Walsh

As a company, Bud Light has essentially gone into hiding ever since their partnership with womanhood cosplayer Dylan Mulvaney was first announced. They put out a brief statement meekly defending their decision, but then – silence. Meanwhile, the beer brand faces increasing backlash and calls for boycotts. And now we know who we can thank for this brilliant idea — or who Bud Light can thank anyway. We only need to go back a few days before the announcement to get a more in-depth defense and explanation of Bud’s terrible decision to trans the brand.

A couple of weeks ago, the vice president of marketing for Bud Light, a woman named Alissa Heinerscheid, appeared on an obscure YouTube podcast called “Make Yourself At Home,” where she went into great depth about her experience being Bud Light’s first ever female VP. She also discussed the marketing shift that she’s engineering, in an effort, she explained, to be more “inclusive” and “representative”:

tweet

So we see from the outset that this woman has, of course, completely misdiagnosed the problem. She has somehow determined that the waning interest in the brand is due to its “frat boy” image. Customers have stopped drinking Bud Light, Alissa decided, because they are concerned about its toxic masculinity and insufficient focus on diversity and equity. She imagines a scenario where the once-typical Bud Light drinker scans the options at the liquor store, almost reaches for the Bud Light 30 pack, but then pulls back and says to himself, “Never mind. I’m only buying beer from companies that have displayed an outward commitment to inclusivity and representation.” Then she imagines this consumer going up to the cashier and asking where they keep their trans-affirming beverage options.

But this is not exactly how it works in the real world. The truth is that Bud Light is declining because the product is terrible and people have other options. It tastes like carbonated tap water flavored with notes of old hay, shoveled off the floor of someone’s barn. That’s why it’s not selling as well anymore. Before the explosion of the craft beer market, people drank Anheuser-Busch products because they were forced to choose between that brand of piss water or some other brand of piss water. Most beer drinkers didn’t even know what beer was supposed to actually taste like until the proliferation of craft beer and IPAs. Now, consumers can pay three or four dollars more for real beer. The effect on Bud Light’s sales is similar to the effect on Outback Steakhouse if a restaurant that actually knows how to cook a steak moved in right next door, and only charged a couple of dollars extra. Meanwhile, compounding Bud Light’s problems, sales of beer in general — all types — have dipped in recent years as many younger people unfortunately choose to smoke weed instead. All told, Bud Light is facing many challengers, and increasingly losing the contest. That’s the real problem. But it’s not the problem that Alissa Heinerscheid wants to solve. For her, the only problem she will ever recognize — when it comes to Bud Light, or anything else — is insufficient wokeness.

Before we analyze that any further, I want to continue watching one more minute of this interview. The clip we just watched is the bit that went viral. But if you keep listening for another minute, you’ll hear something important:

clip 1

There she’s explaining the thought process behind Bud Light’s most recent Super Bowl ad campaign. The commercial she’s referring to is the one where the actor Miles Teller dances with his wife to old music. Watch:

clip 2

Now, the interesting thing is that if anyone had watched that ad when it first aired and then complained that it was woke, they would have been mocked for it. They would have been treated as a paranoid conspiracy theorist had they claimed that the Bud Light Super Bowl ad had a liberal bias. After all, it’s just a commercial with two people dancing in their living rooms. And yet she proudly admits that she chose that ad because it helps further her agenda to feminize the company and bring it into alignment with her Left-wing values. It’s just done, in that case, in a relatively subtle way. The Dylan Mulvaney sponsorship was, on the other hand, far less subtle. And now they’re paying the price for their lack of subtlety.

Except that, from Vice President Alissa’s perspective, they are not paying a price at all. She is obviously not really concerned with Bud Light’s health as a company or its sales or its long term prospects. She almost certainly doesn’t even like the product and probably hasn’t had a single sip of it in her life. You could work at a liquor store for 30 years and never once see someone who looks like Alissa Heinerscheid walk up to the counter with a six pack of Bud Light. She doesn’t like the product, she doesn’t like the company, and she doesn’t like the customer base. She is yet another liberal woman put into a position of power within an institution, despite not understanding the fundamental point of that institution, and hating whatever she does understand about it. We’ve discussed in depth why these companies go woke — why almost every major company goes woke, and has already gone woke — and all those points still stand. But here is another reason, just as pertinent. Every institution in our country is being taken over by people who hate the institutions they are in charge of. This is true in the corporate world. This is true in government. This is especially true in the military. This is true in many of our churches. This is true even down to the level of the family, where many families are led by mothers and fathers who have no interest in marriage or parenting. They treat their children like pets or fashion accessories. Hence the proliferation of “trans kids.”

Across the spectrum, you find institutions that aren’t collapsing so much as imploding. It is a controlled demolition. An intentional act of sabotage from within. Bud Light is just one example, and certainly not the most significant or important. It’s no surprise to see this happening as the Left seizes hold of the culture. Hatred of societal institutions has always been one of the essential animating principles on the left. Self-hatred, too. As I’ve said before, leftism is a religion of self-loathing. It teaches boys to hate their masculinity, girls to hate their femininity, white people to hate their race, Americans to hate their country, westerners to hate their history and heritage, and so on. That’s where you find the engineered self-loathing at its deepest levels. Closer to the surface is Bud Light, and all the other woke corporations, managed by executives who hate the companies they run and especially hate the customers they serve. And hopefully now the feeling is mutual.
