Sermon For Sexagesima Sunday

Beloved in Christ,

We are in the midst of the Season of Septuagesima, a three-week period of transition between the joys of the Christmas cycle, just ended, and the beginning of the great Lenten Fast.

Christmas saw the coming of God into our human flesh – the great mystery of God’s love for us.  On the other hand, the whole of the Easter cycle points to the reason for Christ’s advent among men:  our fallen condition – the sorrow of sin and death.

During the first week of Septuagesima the Old Testament readings in the Divine Office spoke of the creation of the world and humanity’s first parents, Adam and Eve. Their deliberate disobedience of God’s commands transgressed His divine love towards them.  This disobedience, the first and most vicious of all human sins, lost for them sanctifying grace, immortality, and the prevailing balance between right thought and human passions. These were special endowments (in theology called the praeternatural gifts) with which they had been endowed at the moment of their creation.  Expelled from the Garden of Paradise they and all their offspring passed into the world of suffering and death – the consequence of sin.

During this week of Sexagesima the readings from the Divine Office move forward in the history of salvation.  They reveal the pernicious quality and persistence of men in their sin through the account of Noah and the Flood.

God saw that man’s wickedness was great upon the earth and said, “I will destroy man whom I have created.”  He said to Noah, “I will establish my covenant with thee and thou shalt enter into the ark.” For forty days and nights rain fell as the ark was lifted by the waters which covered the tallest of mountains.  In this chaos of retribution all men were carried away like so much stubble.  Only Noah and his companions remained alive.  In time God remembered Noah and brought the rains to an end.  As we know, Noah released a dove which returned with a fresh olive branch indicating the earth was no longer covered with water.  As Noah left the ark God cast a rainbow into the sky, giving it as a sign of His covenant in the reconciliation of man with Himself.

That this story is related to the Paschal Mystery is evident in that the Church reads it again during the Easter Vigil of Holy Saturday night, applying it, in the liturgy, to Our Lord and His Church: “The just wrath of the Creator drowned the guilty world in the vengeful waters of the flood, only Noah being saved in the ark.  But then the admirable power of love washed the world in Blood.”  It was the wood of the ark which once saved the human race in that distant time. It is now the wood of the Cross which offers salvation to everyone throughout the ages.  “Thou alone,” says the Church, speaking of the Cross, “hast been found worthy to be, for this shipwrecked world, the ark which brings safely into port.”

“The open door in the side of the ark by which those entered who were to escape the wrath of the flood and who represent the Church, are a prefiguring of the Mystery of Redemption; for on the Cross, our Lord had His sacred side opened and from this gate of life, went forth the Sacraments of grace, giving true life to souls.  Indeed, the blood and water which flowed from thence are symbols of the Eucharist and Baptism.”

Thus, we see that the great Flood is a foreshadowing of the regeneration of our souls by grace, and that the same element – water – is, in a mystical way, is both the destruction of vice and the source of virtue in human life and affairs.

But more important still is that Noah is a figure of Christ since Noah was divinely appointed to father all succeeding generations after an epoch of sin. After surviving the flood Noah became the new father for the human race, an image of human life renewed by the divine will of God.

But now, it is Christ much more than Noah, the true second father of all Mankind in that Jesus peoples the world with a race of believing souls faithful to God.  It was through the Word that God made all creation in the beginning, and now it is through the scattering of the seed of that Word – the preaching of the Gospel – that Our Lord brings men to new birth in Him.

This is the very context for the choice of today’s Gospel reading, the Parable of the Sower.  Our Lord preached on the shore of Galilee, scattering His seed into the hearts of those more or less disposed to hear it.  Matthew and Mark, in their accounts of this event, tell us that the different “crops” of such sowing results from the soil into which the seed is tilled.  The crop fails when scattered onto rocky ground: hearts, that is, hardened with pride, barren – dried up by self-interest, or full of thorns – enslaved to sensuality.  But three sowings produce excellent fruit:  these are Christ’s truth when sown in souls disposed to receiving the liberating truth of God’s revelation.  For they will bear fruit: thirty-, sixty-, one hundred-fold, each according to his capacity and divine grace.

In Noah’s days men perished because of their unbelief, while the few who did survive were saved by their trust in him – in his word, through his actions.  In the same way, in the New Testament, those who trust in the words and works of the Lord Jesus will find their true and everlasting salvation.  According to St. Augustine, “just as there were three floors in the ark, so there are three different spiritual harvests” evident in the Parable of the Sower.  But the truth of God must be preached in its entirety and accepted without reserve, lest the seed spring up only to wither without fruit.

Hence in today’s lengthy Epistle we see Paul refuting the errors of the false teachers while holding up to the Corinthians his own life of suffering as an image and complement of Christ Who alone is grace, truth and salvation.  Paul exhorts us to do as he himself has done.  This is possible, for God wills our salvation and gives grace sufficient that we might achieve what God wills for us.

And thus, Beloved, through this rich fabric of liturgical worship and scriptural imagery, we are led to further understand the relation of our souls to God.  In holy worship and consideration of the mysteries hidden within it we are made more aware of the evil of sin and the desperation of its consequences:  they are – as we are painfully aware from life without the walls of a church – they are suffering, sickness, death – the full panoply of human ruin – against which is painted the grace of safe harbor and salvation, the gratuitous mercy of God which He sews into willing hearts.

Let us, Beloved, ponder these truths as we prepare our hearts and lives for the coming Lenten Fast.  Let us deepen our life of prayer by establishing for ourselves a realistic – but real – rule of life through which our commitment to prayer is established daily, and deepened in practice.  Let us ask God, in a spirit of humility and true repentance, for the grace of entering into the yearly atonement soon to begin.

For it is only through a just and commensurate penance that we may come to the threshold of grace and so enter into the glory of the world to come, the hundred-fold harvest, that true destiny for which God has given us life. This is the possession of Him, face to face, life in all abundance, even unto the ages of ages.  Amen.

TOLDYA: Dr. David Martin explains why the mRNA “vaccines” are not vaccines

The synthetic mRNA concoction is biotechnology, not a vaccine. It tricks your cells into producing a portion of the live virus, as I explained in laymen’s terms here:

https://nonvenipacem.com/2020/12/07/yall-really-need-to-understand-how-mrna-vaccines-are-designed-and-executed-youre-not-going-to-like-it/

February 4, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – In direct contrast with mainstream media coverage and the claims of pharmaceutical companies, business ethicist and professor Dr. David Martin, Ph.D said in an interview that “mRNA is not a vaccination. It’s a gene therapy that was originally developed for cancer treatment.” On top of that, Martin described the role the media have played in propagating falsehoods around PCR testing for COVID-19.

Martin said that as part of a “propaganda war” a widespread conflation of terms has been promulgated by media and research institutions, including Johns Hopkins University. According to Martin, the World Health Organization (WHO) correctly distinguished SARS-CoV-2 as a virus and COVID-19 as a set of clinical symptoms, but that confusion has arisen from a false “causal link” made by the media, reporting that SARS-CoV-2 causes COVID-19.

After establishing reliability problems of PCR testing and the conflation of SARS-CoV-2 with COVID-19, Martin explained why he thinks mRNA vaccines are falsely called vaccines, and that they work more like gene therapy.

According to Martin, a vaccination is typically understood as being a treatment “with an attenuated or alive virus,” or a fragment thereof, which “is meant to keep you from getting an infection and it is meant to keep you from transmitting the infection.”

“The problem is that in the case of Moderna and Pfizer, this is not a vaccine. This is gene therapy,” he continued. The Moderna and Pfizer creations send “a strand of synthetic RNA into the human being and is invoking within the human being the creation of the S1 spike protein, which is a pathogen.”

“This is not only not keeping you from getting sick, it’s making your body produce the thing that makes you sick,” Martin added.

Worse than Canceled: Bank of America secretly hands Feds private customer transaction data; no stinking warrants needed

Folks, we are only 15 days into this. Imagine how much worse it will get. Who is your mortgage loan with? Have you worked out how to find enough liquidity if they call your note?

Video: https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/tucker-carlson-bank-of-america-customer-data-feds-capitol-riot

Partial transcript:

There has been an enormous amount of talk — not just this week, but over the last month — about violent extremism and the people who embrace it. Those people, we’re told, are domestic terrorists who must be put down by force. The war on terror has moved stateside. Extremists are inside our country, and we must hunt them down.

We’re hearing those words nonstop, not just on cable news, but from elected officials, including some Republicans. We’re hearing it from the leaders of federal law enforcement agencies and the intelligence agencies. We’re hearing it from the Pentagon. Just this week, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered the entire U.S. military to “stand down” while investigators cleanse the ranks of political extremists. And, of course, we’re hearing it from the business establishment, from Wall Street and the tech monopolies, from the massive multinational corporations that increasingly control the contours of American life. All of them are now on the hunt for political extremists.

Bank of America, the second-largest bank in the country with more than 60 million customers, is actively but secretly engaged in the hunt for extremists in cooperation with the government. Bank of America is, without the knowledge or the consent of its customers, sharing private information with federal law enforcement agencies. Bank of America effectively is acting as an intelligence agency, but they’re not telling you about it.

In the days after the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, Bank of America went through its own customers’ financial and transaction records. These were the private records of Americans who had committed no crime; people who, as far as we know, had absolutely nothing to do with what happened at the Capitol. But at the request of federal investigators, Bank of America searched its databases looking for people who fit a specific profile.

Here’s what that profile was: “1. Customers confirmed as transacting, either through bank account debit card or credit card purchases in Washington, D.C. between 1/5 and 1/6. 2. Purchases made for Hotel/Airbnb RSVPs in DC, VA, and MD after 1/6. 3. Any purchase of weapons or at a weapons-related merchant between 1/7 and their upcoming suspected stay in D.C. area around Inauguration Day. 4. Airline related purchases since 1/6.”

The first thing you should notice about that profile is that it’s remarkably broad. Any purchases of anything in Washington, D.C.; any overnight stay anywhere in an area spanning three jurisdictions and hundreds of miles; any purchase not just of legal firearms, but anything bought from a “weapons-related merchant,” T-shirts included; and any airline-related purchases — not just flights to Washington, but flights to anywhere, from Omaha to Thailand. That is an absurdly wide net.

Bank of America identified a total of 211 customers who met these “thresholds of interest.” At that point, “Tucker Carlson Tonight” has learned, Bank of America turned over the results of its internal scan to federal authorities, apparently without notifying the customers who were being spied upon…

Ivermectin… what’s good for the horse is good for the handler

You might have heard that the NIH rescinded its ban on ivermectin as a treatment for corona a few weeks ago.

This was accomplished in large part by the impassioned testimony of Dr. Kory on December 8th, 2020. If you haven’t watch it yet, it is must see TV. The NIH timing is also interesting, isn’t it, because the FDA can’t issue Emergency Authorization for a “vaccine” if viable treatments are already available. But now that that’s done, boom, cheap and effective drug no longer banned. If you have any lingering doubts about the safety and efficacy of ivermectin, you need to listen to Dr. Kory:

https://vimeo.com/490351508

If the video won’t play, click here: https://vimeo.com/490351508

By the way, they’ve known as far back as June 2020 that ivermectin is highly effective, safe, and FAST. Goes to work immediately, and wipes out the corona in 48 hours.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32251768/

I am now hearing first hand reports of doctors refusing to prescribe ivermectin, even though the ban was lifted, and even when specifically requested by the patient/caregiver. If this happens to you, here is the direct link to the NIH statement… click and then print this off in case you need it:

If that still doesn’t work, you’ve always got the option of horse paste. Yes, really. Not tasty, but quite effective.

The best news is, it works as a prophylactic too.

This is what it looks like out of the box. If you were treating a horse, you’d take the cap off, stick the white part into the tooth gap (horses have a gap between their front and back teeth… where the bit goes), and PLUNGE! Mr. Ed is now safe from bugs of all sorts for three months.

Now, if you don’t have a 2500 animal you are using this on, that’s okay. You can divide it into smaller doses by sliding that white ring down the plunger and locking it back in at the weight you want. So now the plunger will only go partway down, until it hits the ring and stops. No need for any math to determine proper dosage.

The dosage administered here is for healthy individuals, as a prophylactic. It’s half as strong as the full dosage. I took two doses, ten days apart. That was three weeks ago, zero side effects. I highly suggest finding some sort of food to wrap up your paste, to make it easier to go down. Mixing it into a glass of juice could also work. Just don’t try it straight, as the aftertaste will make you cry.

I just noticed, horse paste is now “Amazon’s Choice for ivermectin for humans:” Yup.

I have been a city boy all my life, but I did spend one summer on a ranch in Colorado around 5th Grade. I had a horse. His name was Spunky.

Are the Wuhan virus and its “vaccines” part of a one-two punch? Why were cheap and effective treatments banned until now?

I direct your attention to a post today from Mary Ann Kreitzer at Les Femmes. Ask yourself, why would cheap and effective treatments be withheld from the public, right until Emergency Authorization for the “vaccines” was approved. Follow the evidence. What seems to make the most sense? What if the “vaccine” is worse than the virus? Below is an excerpt; but here is a link to the full post: https://lesfemmes-thetruth.blogspot.com/2021/02/are-wuhan-virus-and-covid-vaccines.html

Are the Wuhan Virus and the Covid Vaccines Biological Weapons?

What if we were in an unconventional war with the perfect stealth bioweapon that could attack and kill your enemy in a way that was totally untraceable! That’s what we are experiencing according to Dr. Lee Merritt. She is no conspiracy theorist. She is an expert with long experience in biological warfare.

Former Navy surgeon: COVID-19 acts as perfect bioweapon aimed to ‘takedown’ America

You absolutely need to listen to her explain what’s happening with the Wuhan virus. The first generation of COVID was particularly virulent. It even killed many doctors and health care workers. But viruses mutate in order to stay alive, even man-made viruses. They can’t survive if they kill all their victims. As the virus has changed, it is less dangerous and fewer people are dying. And even from the beginning IT WAS AND IS TREATABLE! Dr. Merrit points out that we make vaccines for diseases that have no treatment, like smallpox, not for diseases that can be treated, like COVID:

“We actually have a treatment for this that works extremely well. In spite of all the propaganda… and the attempts to dismiss anything they disagree with, we have treatment for this….Why would they hide treatment?….[money — $69 billion vaccine industry]…. It’s much bigger than anything to do with Trump….Why don’t they want you to know [about effective treatments]?….If we are at biowarfare right now as a part of this multi-dimensional warfare, if you have a treatment in your back pocket they cannot terrorize you with…viruses….The way they’ve made this experimental – it’s really not a vaccine, but whatever this thing — this RNA thing — it doesn’t prevent transmission by their own admission.”

Read the article and pay special attention to the discussion of warnings about the vaccine’s links to a second exposure that can cause the body to react with a super immune response that can lead to death. Dr. Mercola, using data from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. discusses it in this article:

According to Kennedy, the same thing happened [super immune response] in 2014 with the dengue vaccine DENVax, which Fauci owns the patent on. “They knew from the clinical trials that there was a problem with paradoxical immune response,” Kennedy says, but they gave it to several hundred thousand Filipino kids anyway.

They got a great immune response from the vaccine, but those exposed to wild dengue got horribly sick and 600 of the children died. “Today, the Philippine government is prosecuting criminally a bunch of the people locally who were involved in that decision,” Kennedy says.

Do the research, people. Fauci and company are lying to you. They also are censoring life-saving information. Dr. Merritt says we are being deliberately denied informed consent…

Much more at the link above.

Not Conspiracy Theory, but Conspiracy FACT: “Immunization with SARS Coronavirus Vaccines Leads to Pulmonary Immunopathology on Challenge with the SARS Virus”

Ask your doctor if this is fake news, and ask yourself why no one is talking about it. They have been working on a SARS-Coronavirus vaccine since 2002. No dice in 19 years, yet they found one that is “safe and effective” in nine months? Hmmm. Do you understand that it is literally impossible to determine safety in nine months?

The tendency of coronavirus vaccines to harm the patient isn’t new… it is a well-known problem, and has been for years. You don’t have to dig deep into technical lab procedures nor medical terminology; it’s right there out in the open.

In this case, it’s the very title of the study:

The emergence of the disease SARS and the rapid identification of its severity and high risk for death prompted a rapid mobilization for control at the major sites of occurrence and at the international level. Part of this response was for development of vaccines for potential use in control, a potential facilitated by the rapid identification of the causative agent, a new coronavirus [8][9]. Applying the principles of infection control brought the epidemic under control but a concern for reemergence naturally or a deliberate release supported continuation of a vaccine development effort so as to have the knowledge and capability necessary for preparing and using an effective vaccine should a need arise. For this purpose, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases supported preparation of vaccines for evaluation for potential use in humans. This effort was hampered by the occurrence in the initial preclinical trial of an immunopathogenic-type lung disease among ferrets and Cynomolgus monkeys given a whole virus vaccine adjuvanted with alum and challenged with infectious SARS-CoV [14]. That lung disease exhibited the characteristics of a Th2-type immunopathology with eosinophils in the lung sections suggesting hypersensitivity that was reminiscent of the descriptions of the Th2-type immunopathologic reaction in young children given an inactivated RSV vaccine and subsequently infected with naturally-occurring RSV [32][33]. Most of these children experienced severe disease with infection that led to a high frequency of hospitalizations; two children died from the infection [33][40][41]. The conclusion from that experience was clear; RSV lung disease was enhanced by the prior vaccination.

In addition to the RSV experience, concern for an inappropriate response among persons vaccinated with a SARS-CoV vaccine emanated from experiences with coronavirus infections and disease in animals that included enhanced disease among infected animals vaccinated earlier with a coronavirus vaccine [31]. Feline infectious peritonitis coronavirus (FIPV) is a well-known example of antibody-mediated enhanced uptake of virus in macrophages that disseminate and increase virus quantities that lead to enhanced disease [31][45]. Antigen-antibody complex formation with complement activation can also occur in that infection and some other coronavirus infections in animals. Thus, concern for safety of administering SARS-CoV vaccines to humans became an early concern in vaccine development...

A summary of the SARS-CoV vaccine evaluations in animal models (including the current report) that indicated an evaluation for immunopathology after challenge is presented in Table 2. …Th2-type immunopathology was seen after challenge of all vaccinated animals when evaluation for immunopathology was reported except the study in hamsters with a GSK whole virus vaccine… Thus, a Th2-type immunopathologic reaction on challenge of vaccinated animals has occurred in three of four animal models (not in hamsters) including two different inbred mouse strains with four different types of SARS-CoV vaccines with and without alum adjuvant. An inactivated vaccine preparation that does not induce this result in mice, ferrets and nonhuman primates has not been reported.

“This combined experience provides concern for trials with SARS-CoV vaccines in humans. Clinical trials with SARS coronavirus vaccines have been conducted and reported to induce antibody responses and to be “safe” [29][30]. However, the evidence for safety is for a short period of observation. The concern arising from the present report is for an immunopathologic reaction occurring among vaccinated individuals on exposure to infectious SARS-CoV, the basis for developing a vaccine for SARS. Additional safety concerns relate to effectiveness and safety against antigenic variants of SARS-CoV and for safety of vaccinated persons exposed to other coronaviruses…”

Random thoughts on a Monday afternoon

Today is the Feast of St. Ignatius of Antioch. The Communion verse is his own words at the point of his martyrdom: “I am the wheat of Christ; may I be ground by the teeth of beasts that I may be found pure bread.”

GOSPEL (John 12:24-26)At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falling into the ground die, Itself remaineth alone. But if it die it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it and he that hateth his life in this world keepeth it unto life eternal. If any man minister to me, let him follow me: and where I am, there also shall my minister be. If any man minister to me, him will my Father honour.”

Ignatius was the second bishop of Antioch after St. Peter. When Emperor Trajan tried to force the Christians of that region to worship the Roman gods, the greatest obstacle to his purpose proved to be the aged bishop of Antioch. Trajan ordered that the intrepid prelate be taken to Rome in the year 107 and then thrown to the lions in the arena. The magnificent letters Ignatius sent to several Christian communities during his journey recall the mysticism of St. Paul’s Epistles. “My yearning is for death. My love has been crucified, and I am not on fire with the love of earthly things. I desire incorruptible love,” he wrote. https://tridentine-mass.blogspot.com/2021/02/saint-ignatius-of-antioch-107-ad-saint.html

Yesterday was the feast (not celebrated due to the Sunday) of St. John Bosco. John Bosco (1815-88) grew up on a Piedmont farm in Italy. While still a student-priest at Turin, he began his mission for the abandoned boy apprentices of the early industrial era, who roamed uncared for on the streets of the city. Priests and Brothers gathered about John Bosco as his work developed, and formed the Salesian Order, named in honor of St. Francis of Sales. He also founded a community of Sisters to aid needy girls. Today, the missioners of John Bosco carry on his ideals of gentleness and charity among poor children in Asia, Africa, and South America, as well as in Europe and North America.

St. John Bosco was given much knowledge through prophetic dreams. The most famous is the one where the pope guides the barque away from shipwreck, to be anchored on two giant pillars, one being the BVM, the other being the Eucharist. Following is a lesser known one, that is quite telling:

One of the prototypical dream-visions St. John Bosco had concerned “The Snake and the Rosary.” In it, he and the boys were in a meadow where a stranger took him to see “a huge, ugly snake, over twenty feet long.” The stranger impelled him to dangle a rope over the snake, which he was quite hesitant to do out of fear. He finally agreed to hold the rope over the menacing snake, and the snake leaped up and “ensnared itself as in a noose.”  The snake then furiously writhed to free itself but ended up tearing itself to pieces. The stranger then took the rope and put it in a box saying “watch carefully.” Then, opening the box he saw the rope had taken the shape of the words “Ave Maria” or “Hail Mary.”  The man then explained to him that the snake is a symbol of the devil and the Ave Maria rope stands for the Rosary — with which “we can strike, conquer, and destroy all of hell’s demons.”

The dream, however, was not done.  In the second part of the dream, the boys of the Oratory were now congregated around the remnants of flesh from the snake. Then, against St. John Bosco’s protests that it was poisonous, some of the boys began to pick up the snake flesh and eat it saying, “It’s delicious!”  They promptly crumpled to the ground, with their bodies swelled and hardened like stone.  The saint tried vigorously to keep them from eating the meat but they just kept eating it.  He questioned the stranger why do they keep eating the meat even though it will kill them?  The stranger replied, “Because the sensual man does not perceive the things that are of God!”  He pleaded to the stranger that there must be some way to save them.  To which, the stranger said there is, by “anvil and hammer.”  St. John Bosco then put the boys on an anvil and hit them with a hammer.  With that, most of the boys were “restored to life and recovered.”  The stranger then explained to him that the anvil and hammer are symbols respectively for Holy Communion and Confession.  By Confession we strike away at sin, and by Holy Communion we are sustained. https://catholicexchange.com/snake-rosary-dreams-st-john-bosco
