Philly mayor dines maskless inside Maryland restaurant, while restaurants in his own city are still shut down, by his order

They are laughing at you. They all know it’s all a scam. They don’t care about the millions unemployed and the businesses that will never recover, the drug overdoses, the suicides. It’s just a game for them. Orange Man Bad.

The image sparked fierce criticism from some people and business owners. Writing directly to Kenney in an Instagram post, famed Philadelphia chef and restaurateur Marc Vetri decried the mayor as a hypocrite.”I guess all your press briefings and your narrative of unsafe indoor dining don’t apply to you. Thank you for clearing it all up for us tonight,” Vetri wrote in part. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/coronavirus/spotted-dining-indoors-in-maryland-philly-mayor-jim-kenney-throws-blame-at-feds/2518649/

The mayor’s office defended the photo, releasing a statement that blamed Trump:

“Throughout the pandemic the Mayor has consistently deferred to the guidance of the Health Commissioner, who in this case felt strongly about waiting until Sept. 8 to resume indoor dining. If elected officials at the federal level had similarly deferred to health experts over the past five months, this might not even be an issue by now.

Orange Man Bad. Let them eat cake. But not indoors.

For the record, no one is sick from corona in Philly. They have new cases, and are testing like mad. But no one is actually sick. Even by their own faked up counting methods, fewer than 40 hospitalizations per day, SINCE LATE MAY. Around ten per day in August:

Is it safe to assume that the majority of people understand this yet?

Video: Black Democrat Congressman accosted on streets of DC, needs police escort to walk on sidewalk

Check out that headline. Not 1936, not 1957, not 1964. Welcome to 2020, where the irony is completely lost on the agitators.

Vernon Jones is a Democrat state representative in Georgia. In April, he announced he was endorsing Trump. He was invited to speak at the RNC, which he did last Monday. On Thursday, after the convention concluded (with what was probably the most widely witnessed Ave Maria in the history of the world), Jones was walking back to his hotel, when this happened:

Here is a different angle that shows the concluding confrontation at the hotel lobby:

In total, six minutes worth of video that should be enough to convince anyone that this is not going to end well. This is not about skin color, “equality,” or anything like that. It’s about wrongthink. They want you dead.

Pray and prep. Spiritual readiness, material readiness. Get moving.

Video 28 Aug 2020: RFK Jr. explains it all in 18 minutes

This needs to be aggressively shared.

Topics covered: Evolution of CDC as warmonger of “public health,” Big Pharma as quasi-governmental strike force, suspension of rule of law re vax liability and testing, real-time psychological warfare strategies rooted in Nazi Germany, weaponized fear as the primary vector of tyranny, fearful sheep not only as willing participants but as invading hoard of active combatants (esp. where children are concerned), Gates of Hell, Big Data spying techniques and technology, your phone (and so, Big Data) sees and hears everything you see and hear, Alexa/Siri, tracking/tracing/GPS, enforcement of digitized monetary system, seizing of accounts/assets/real property for non-compliance…

So yeah, it’s totally worth 18 minutes. By the way, if your long guns are exclusively chambered in 5.56, have you looked around for ammo lately? If you can find any in-stock, how do you like those prices? You might want to consider adding some 7.62/.308 options.

Virgin Most Powerful, pray for us.

St. John the Baptist was an Unreconstructed Ossified Manualist

Or maybe it’s Proto-Pelagian Donatistic Expialidocious.

Forgive me that last part. I forgot that Mary Poppins is racist.

<end sarcasm>

INTROIT Ps. 118:46-47 I spoke of Your testimonies before kings, and I was not ashamed; I meditated on Your commandments, which I loved dearly. Ps. 91:2. It is good to praise the Lord, and to sing to Your name, O Most High!

St. John the Baptist is quite a model for us. The Forerunner of Christ has two feasts, the primary being his nativity (24 June), and that of his beheading (today). At his nativity, or rather at the Visitation, God granted John the grace of gestational Baptism, so that he was born without the stain of original sin. At his beheading, John reciprocated this gift with his sacrificial witness to Truth. The reason for his beheading was his intransigence on the commandments, which he loved dearly, because he loved our Lord.

The subject matter in this case was the sanctity of marriage.

“And it hath been said, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce. But I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, excepting for the cause of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.” Matt 5:31-32

“And there came to him the Pharisees tempting him, and saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? Who answering, said to them: Have ye not read, that he who made man from the beginning, made them male and female? And he said: For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. They say to him: Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorce, and to put away? He saith to them: Because Moses by reason of the hardness of your heart permitted you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.” Matt 19:3-9

“And the Pharisees coming to him asked him: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. But he answering, saith to them: What did Moses command you? Who said: Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away. To whom Jesus answering, said: Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you that precept. But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife. And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. And in the house again his disciples asked him concerning the same thing. And he saith to them: Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if the wife shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.” Mark 10:2-12

“The law and the prophets were until John; from that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every one useth violence towards it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fall. Every one that putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adultery.” Luke 16:16-18

At that time, Herod himself had sent and apprehended John, and bound him prison for the sake of Herodias the wife of Philip his brother, because he had married her. For John said to Herod: “It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.” Now Herodias laid snares for him: and was desirous to put him to death and could not. For Herod feared John, knowing him to be a just and holy man: and kept him, and when he heard him, did many things: and he heard him willingly. And when a convenient day was come, Herod made a supper for his birthday, for the princes, and tribunes, and chief men of Galilee.
And when the daughter of the same Herodias had come in, and had
danced, and pleased Herod, and them that were at table with him, the
king said to the damsel: “Ask of me what thou wilt, and I will give it
thee.” And he swore to her: “Whatsoever thou shalt ask I will give
thee, though it be the half of my kingdom.” Who when she was gone out, said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” But her mother said: “The head of John the Baptist.” And when she was come in immediately with haste to the king, she asked, saying: “I will that forthwith thou give me in a dish, the head of John the Baptist.” And the king was struck sad. Yet
because of his oath, and because of them that were with him at table,
he would not displease her: But sending an executioner, he commanded that his head should be brought in a dish. And he beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head in a dish: and gave to the damsel, and the damsel gave it her mother. Which his disciples hearing came, and took his body, and laid it in a tomb. Mark 6:17-29

This episode began as maybe being a kind of “infomercial” for Dr. Mazza’s upcoming online courses, and turned into – no joke – one of our best Podcasts ever. A rip-roaring conversation, all rooted in St. Au-GUS-tine, not Saint Augus-TINE. The truth ain’t no city in Flahrda, y’all. Don’t miss this one.

Video: GOP convention ends with epic Hail Mary

I’m not naive about the things that will befall us in the next two months, nor should you be. You also need to be preparing for the Hell that awaits in Nov-Dec, as the election remains contested for months and chaos reigns. The situation is a runaway train, destination 1789.

But whatever else may happen, this happened last night, and I’m entering it into the record:

Video and full text of Sister Dede Byrne’s speech: Even as our cities burn, it’s not insignificant that tens of millions watched this

The only quibble is her assertion that the Blessed Virgin Mary was an “unwed mother.” Nope. But this really is worth four minutes of your time.

Full text via NCR:

Good evening. I am Sister Dede Byrne, and I belong to the Community of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Last Fourth of July, I was honored to be one of the president’s guests at his Salute to America celebration. I must confess that I recently prayed while in chapel, begging God to allow me to be a voice, an instrument for human life. And now here I am, speaking at the Republican National Convention. I guess you’d better be careful what you pray for.

My journey to religious life was not a traditional route, if there is such a thing. In 1978, as a medical school student at Georgetown University, I joined the Army to help pay for my tuition, and ended up devoting 29 years to the military, serving as a doctor and a surgeon in places like Afghanistan and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. After much prayer and contemplation, I entered my religious order in 2002, working to serve the poor and the sick in Haiti, Sudan, Kenya, Iraq and in Washington, D.C.

Humility is at the foundation of our order, which makes it very difficult to talk about myself. But I can speak about my experience working for those fleeing war-torn and impoverished countries all around the world. Those refugees all share a common experience. They have all been marginalized, viewed as insignificant, powerless and voiceless.

And while we tend to think of the marginalized as living beyond our borders, the truth is the largest marginalized group in the world can be found here in the United States. They are the unborn.

As Christians, we first met Jesus as a stirring embryo in the womb of an unwed mother and saw him born nine months later in the poverty of the cave. It is no coincidence that Jesus stood up for what was just and was ultimately crucified because what he said was not politically correct or fashionable. As followers of Christ, we are called to stand up for life against the politically correct or fashionable of today.

We must fight against a legislative agenda that supports and even celebrates destroying life in the womb. Keep in mind, the laws we create define how we see our humanity. We must ask ourselves: What we are saying when we go into a womb and snuff out an innocent, powerless, voiceless life?

As a physician, I can say without hesitation: Life begins at conception. While what I have to say may be difficult for some to hear, I am saying it because I am not just pro-life, I am pro-eternal life. I want all of us to end up in heaven together someday.

Which brings me to why I am here today. Donald Trump is the most pro-life president this nation has ever had, defending life at all stages. His belief in the sanctity of life transcends politics. President Trump will stand up against Biden/Harris, who are the most anti-life presidential ticket ever, even supporting the horrors of late-term abortion and infanticide. Because of his courage and conviction, President Trump has earned the support of America’s pro-life community. Moreover, he has a nationwide of religious standing behind him. You’ll find us here with our weapon of choice, the rosary. Thank you, Mr. President, we are all praying for you.

Pray for Acadiana

Hurricane Laura has exploded in the last twelve hours, now a Cat 4 with 145 MPH sustained winds and increasing. Cat 5 is 157 MPH. This was unexpected, and they aren’t ready. It was forecast to come ashore Cat 2.

I reckon not many readers of this space have ever been to Acadiana.

The sweetest people you have ever met, even though you can barely understand them. Most speak some kind of AngloFrancoCajunish, but you will love them anyway. A proud people, in a good way.

And man, can they cook.

Acadiana has a fascinating history. It’s worth five minutes of your time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acadiana

I would estimate that upwards of 90% of the habitable structures here cannot withstand sustained winds of 145 MPH.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
