Police find bag of drugs labeled ‘Definitely not a bag full of drugs’

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) – Authorities in Oregon pulled over a stolen vehicle and found a bag full of drugs.

Portland Police officers found a stolen car near SE 162 and Division. When officers pulled over 37-year-old Mia Rochelle Baggenstos and 35-year-old Reginald Lamont Reynold, they found more than just a stolen car.

While searching the vehicle, they found a bag labeled “Definitely Not a Bag Full of Drugs” full of drugs, along with scales, money and a loaded handgun, the Police Bureau said in a post on X.

This week, Portland Police officers found a bag full of drugs, that ironically had “Not a Bag...

Prayers work. More proof.

Under another post there was a comment from a reader who is a meteorologist about storms and prayer. HERE The parish priest prayed and had a procession against the storm. It inexplicably split and went around the parish.

I had the exact same experience once in Wisconsin when a storm bank with tornadoes was barreling down on my exact location, as indicated on the TV coverage with radar, right down to the addresses and time stamps. I went onto the porch, put on my stole, and recited the Litany with the prayers against the storm. Back inside, I watched as a baffled weather man said that the storm had split. The really bad went to the south and to the north around me. I’ve recounted this before.

Also, just a while ago, I wrote of an Italian priest who used the older ritual against a flood and it subsided, BAM!

When I say that bishops and priests should pray with the Litany, I mean it.

Thank you for your prayers. Please keep them going, now for those with losses and for the safety of those who must deal with the aftermath.

Loss of life was very low. 20 people? Is that not a miracle in itself?

Prayers are still needed. People are hurting. Everything is generally a mess, and will be for some time. Still over 2.2 million households without power.

Sunday is Fatima Day. Go to Confession tomorrow.

Milton goes in like a lion and out like a lamb, Thanks be to God

UPDATE 4:35pm Eastern 10/10/24: Still 3 million without power, so please keep praying.

That must have been a terrifying night. The winds were over 100 mph in many places, along with over 90 tornadoes. All my friends and relatives are safe, with most losing only trees. I offered a Rosary in thanksgiving first thing this morning.

Did our prayers have effect? I have no idea. But I do know enough to always offer prayers of thanksgiving, every single day, for any and all blessings in your life. No matter what you are going through, graces and blessings are being offered.

I noticed two interesting things in the case of Milton.

First, the incredible speed with which it moved through. After taking five days to barely cover a hundred miles, once it made landfall it moved very fast, clearing the entire peninsula in a matter of hours. It was out over the Atlantic by daybreak.

Second, what happened to the 12-15 foot storm surge? Yes there was flooding, and mobile homes will be mobile homes, but there was no re-arranging of barrier islands, which is what a 15 foot surge will do. Where did it go? Winds at landfall were 120 mph. So where did all that water go?

Anyway, I am off to Mass and will offer my Communion in thanksgiving as well. Thanks also to all who prayed with me!

Ad Repellendas Tempestates

Collect: A domo tua, quǽsumus, Dómine, spiritales nequítiæ, repellantur: et aërearum discédat malígnitas tempestatum. Per Dóminum. We beseech Thee, O Lord, that all wickedness being driven away from Thy house, the fury of the raging tempest may pass away. Through our Lord.

This prayer can be traced to St. Anthony of Padua:

Make the sign of the cross on the + symbol.

Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. + God became man, + and the Word was made Flesh. + Christ was born of a virgin. + Christ suffered. + Christ was crucified. + Christ died. + Christ rose from the dead. + Christ ascended into Heaven. + Christ conquers. + Christ reigns. + Christ orders. + May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning. + Christ went through their midst in Peace, + and the Word was made Flesh. + Christ is with us with Mary. + Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Juda, the Root of David, was won. + Holy God! + Holy Powerful God ! + Holy Immortal God! + Have mercy on us. Amen!

This prayer comes from the Roman Ritual prayer book:

V. From lightning strikes, hail, and violent storms.
R. Deliver us, O Lord Jesus Christ.

V. Show us, O Lord, Thy mercy.
R. And grant us Thy salvation.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray. We beseech Thee, O Almighty God, through the intercession of Holy Mary, the Mother of God, of the holy angels, patriarchs, prophets, apostles, martyrs, confessors, virgins, widows, and of all Thy saints, that Thou show us Thy continuing protection, permit tranquil winds, and also pour out to us, Thy unworthy servants, Thy safety from heaven above against lightning strikes and violent storms, and that Thou remain always protective of the human race and crush down the aerial powers by the right hand of Thy power. Through the same Christ our Lord.

R. Amen

Our Lady of Victory, of the Rosary, pray for us!

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Victory, of the Most Holy Rosary, the anniversary of her glorious triumph at Lepanto in 1571.

“The feast of the Holy Rosary was instituted to honor Mary for the Christian victory over the Turks at Lepanto on October 7, 1571. Pope St. Pius V and all Christians had prayed the Rosary for victory. The Rosary is a powerful means of uniting families, communities, and nations in the Mystical Body of Christ. In reciting the Rosary we say, “pray for us sinners,” not “pray for me.” The prayers of the Rosary take us out of ourselves by adoring and thanking God, and particularly by meditating on the doctrinal truths of the 15 Mysteries. Moreover, as Pope Leo XIII wrote, “. . . the Rosary is by far the best prayer by which to plead before her (Mary) the cause of our separated brethren.””

Pray the Rosary every day. Commit yourself to doing it for one week. You will see the fruits that quickly, and you will be hooked for life. The Rosary is a weapon, and Our Lady is a military helpmate.

This is war.

Virgin Most Powerful, pray for us!

Our Lady of Victory, of the Rosary, pray for us!

INTROIT
Let us all rejoice in the Lord as we celebrate the feast in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, upon which the angels rejoice and praise the Son of God.
Ps. 44:2. My heart overflows with good tidings; I sing my song to the king.

COLLECT
O God, Your only-begotten Son has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation by His life, death, and resurrection. May we who meditate on those mysteries in the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary imitate the virtues they proclaim and obtain the promises they offer. Through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.

Apart from the signal defeat of the Albigensian heretics at the battle of Muret in 1213 which legend has attributed to the recitation of the Rosary by St. Dominic, it is believed that Heaven has on many occasions rewarded the faith of those who had recourse to this devotion in times of special danger. More particularly, the naval victory of Lepanto gained by Don John of Austria over the Turkish fleet on the first Sunday of October in 1571 responded wonderfully to the processions made at Rome on that same day by the members of the Rosary confraternity. St. Pius V thereupon ordered that a commemoration of the Rosary should be made upon that day, and at the request of the Dominican Order Gregory XIII in 1573 allowed this feast to be kept in all churches which possessed an altar dedicated to the Holy Rosary. In 1671 the observance of this festival was extended by Clement X to the whole of Spain, and somewhat later Clement XI after the important victory over the Turks gained by Prince Eugene on 6 August, 1716 (the feast of our Lady of the Snows), at Peterwardein in Hungary, commanded the feast of the Rosary to be celebrated by the universal Church. A set of “proper” lessons in the second nocturn were conceded by Benedict XIIILeo XIII has since raised the feast to the rank of a double of the second class and has added to the Litany of Loreto the invocation “Queen of the Most Holy Rosary”. On this feast, in every church in which the Rosary confraternity has been duly erected, a plenary indulgence toties quoties is granted upon certain conditions to all who visit therein the Rosary chapel or statue of Our Lady. This has been called the “Portiuncula” of the Rosary.

Pledging your silence and loyalty to a manifest heretic is not going to end well

Good grief. These two people lead the (mutually owned) publications “1 Peter 5” and “Crisis.” Gentlemen, please review the founding documents of your enterprise(s).

This reeks of “Fwanciss” is good for bu$ine$$. Change my mind.

An obstinate manifest heretic places himself outside the Church, without any formal declaration needed. There is no such thing as “Pope Fwanciss.”

Rumor: FEMA is confiscating donations for survivors.

Fact:

Rumors about FEMA turning away donations, stopping trucks or vehicles with donations, confiscating and seizing supplies often spread after a disaster. These are all false.

FEMA does not take donations and/or food from survivors or voluntary organizations. Donations of food, water, or other goods are handled by voluntary agencies who specialize in storing, sorting, cleaning, and distributing donated items.

FEMA does not conduct vehicle stops or handle road closures with armed guards — those are done by local law enforcement.
