  1. This is awful. But if anyone thinks Musk and Vivek are going to do anything but redirect that money to themselves, they’re smoking fat rocks.

In the before time, 2008, Congress voted on actual budgets that everyone got to read. But even then if they wanted to “cut” spending, all that meant was a reduction in growth. Baseline budgeting has ruined the US government.

What is the check against Congress? The presidential veto. Yes, shut down the government. Yes, stop baseline budgeting. Yes, only spend what you receive in taxes.

This isn’t hard, but Trump is betting on smoke and mirrors to lull people into thinking he is doing something. He’d a monumental coward. And a murderer.

  2. Probably the CIA needs Afghan poppy production to keep going so it can continue to possess off-the-records budgets from the sales of heroin.

    1. All the US has to do is stop printing money, stop spending money we don’t have and stop “free trading” with China. You don’t need tariffs, you just do basic econ 101. And you simply focus on your own country. Lord knows China and Russia are.

  3. “Angela Merkel has just dropped a smoking gun into the pages of her new book. According to ‘Freedom: Memoirs 1954-2021’, published on November 26, Berlin was fully aware that Washington wanted to kill off Nord Stream. And that it was just using Russia as a scapegoat to steal a massive new energy market for itself.

“The United States argued that its security interests were affected by the building of the pipeline because its ally Germany would make itself too dependent on Russia. In truth, I felt that the United States was mobilizing its formidable economic and financial resources to prevent the business ventures of other countries, even their allies,” Merkel writes.

“The United States was chiefly interested in its own economic interests, as it wanted to export to Europe LNG obtained through fracking.”

This pretty much establishes that it was by premeditated design that Washington leveraged the Russian military operation in Ukraine as a convenient pretext to turn economic competitor Germany – and the EU more generally – into a vassal. But Merkel’s successor, Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and the rest of the German and European establishment, acted like Joe Biden was just coming to their rescue out of benevolence when he offered to sell them LNG to replace Russian gas – which turned out to cost several times the price, to the ongoing detriment of German and European industry and citizenry.

Biden had stood beside Scholz at a White House podium in February 2022, talking like a mafia boss, saying that “there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2” if Russia enters Ukraine. Then the pipeline just mysteriously blew up in September 2022. Germany still hasn’t found those responsible, though.”

    1. We all know that NordStream was the US. However, Biden’s regime was NEVER about US energy policy. It was always about forever war.

If it was about energy, Biden’s regime would have removed inhabtions from domestic energy production…which hasn’t happened.

I grant that the regime is so stupid and malicious that they think they can sell energy to Europe at a premium cost, and force domestic costs up as well…but I doubt for a second that “energy policy” had anything to do with their decisions.

The only one who turned Germany into a vassal state was Angela Merkel herself. I lived in Nuremberg as an army brat from 1977-1981, and Germany at that time was a utopia. Every American who lived there has fond memories.

Angela Merkel destroyed Germany’s economy and culture through awful wind turbines, the green energy hoax, massive immigration of barbarians, and graffiti everywhere.

It is no longer an advanced country, and she is attempting to shift blame from herself, where it belongs, to America.
